Stellantis Cars Make Up Half Of The Top 10 Slowest Selling List In March

Hornet Holds Up Third Place, Shocking Amount Of Dodge Chargers Still Available...

Over the past several months, Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) dealers have been struggling to get rid of existing inventory—so much so that many dealers are turning allocations from FCA US away. Many factors surround the current predicament: high prices, high-interest rates, inflation, dealer markups, and terrible rebates and financing compared to its competitors. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, and Ram (CDJR) dealers can’t sell vehicles.

The most recent data from CarEdge.com shows that FCA US product covers half of the top 10 slowest-selling vehicles in the U.S. for March 2024.

Make Model Average Selling Price Market Day Supply Total For Sale
BMW X2 $39,836 772 721
Audi SQ8 $110,620 521 1,609
Dodge Hornet $41,905 443 12,820
Ford Mustang Mach-E $54,713 404 22,730
Volvo C40 $58,658 385 1,643
Jaguar F-Type $100,259 329 754
Dodge Charger $43,717 326 30,448
Jeep Grand Wagoneer $101,667 323 3,501
Ram Ram 2500 $65,435 323 1,525
Chrysler 300 $42,948 296 4,631

While the Dodge Hornet loses the top spot for the worst-selling vehicle, it still retains a third-place spot with a 443 market-day supply and 12,820 units currently in dealer inventory. It seems several luxury brands like BMW, Audi, Volvo, and Jaguar have joined many of the mainstream FCA US vehicles on the list for the month. Shocking, the average selling price of the top 10 slowest-selling cars is $65,976, showing a trend that customers in the U.S. are looking for more affordable products.

The Hornet is followed on the list for the FCA US brand by the Dodge Charger, Jeep® Grand Wagoneer, Ram 2500, and Chrysler 300

Shockingly, 30,448 units of the Dodge Charger are in dealer inventories across the U.S. at the moment. The news should give hope to those who don’t want the all-new, all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona coupe that there will be plenty of internal combustion engine (ICE) options, so much for it being a “Last Call,” as the Charger currently has a 326 market-day supply on lots.

$40K FOR A COMPACT "DOMESTIC" SUV??? AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SURPRISED THAT NOBODY WANTS A HORNET??? That's to say nothing about the fact that it's a non-luxury brand, or the fact that most folks also know it's a rebadged alfa/fiat... aka reliability problems... talk about misreading the buyers!

While the BMW X2 tops the list, its average selling price is $2,000 less than the Dodge Hornet.

Much more worrisome is fact the rest of the list are low volume boutique models.can’t believe they are going to give the 2500 a warm over on the same old chassis. Dealers will soon be looking for a good avenue out.

I think what is hurting the Ram 2500 is the mandatory option packages. Over Two Grand extra for cloth seats is insane.
