Jeep® Sells Out Of Two Months Worth The Inventory Of Compass 4xe Models In Five Hours!

Jeep® Brazil has announced that the ordering for its new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Jeep Compass 4xe, sold out the Brazilian dealer network’s two-month-plus inventory in a matter of just five hours after its announcement on April 4th (4/4), also known as 4×4 Day or “Jeep Day”! 

The automaker said that its initial sales estimate was about 120 vehicles per month.

“We selected 40 dealers according to the demand assessment in five regions of Brazil for the sale of the Compass 4xe. These chosen dealers did an incredible job with our customers and the result could not be [better], with the sale of the entire initial stock quickly. The volume sold is equivalent to more than two months of expected sales for the Compass 4xe”, highlighted Everton Kurdejak, Jeep Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Brazil.

Available in one trim level, the Jeep Compass S 4xe hit the market with numbers normally unattainable by traditional models. This means two electric motors, including an exclusive electric rear axle, delivering 240 horsepower of combined power, and allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 6.8 seconds. Compass 4xe’s sporty performance is combined with surprising fuel consumption. According to Jeep, the Compass 4xe achieves a mere 25.4 km/l (59.7 mpg) in the urban cycle, with a range of over 900 kilometers (559 miles). 

In addition, the first electrified Jeep in Brazil can run up to 44 kilometers (27 miles) in full-electric mode, that is, without spending a drop on gasoline, and can be recharged at any 110-volt/220-volt outlet or Wallbox-type charging devices.

“Only Jeep has the exclusive 4xe technology, which combines versatility so that consumers face the most [difficult] challenges without losing the performance and efficiency that only our models can deliver”, said Alexandre Aquino, Director for Jeep Latin America. “The new Compass 4xe PHEV retains all the attributes that made Jeeps the most desirable SUVs on the market and includes unique features made possible by electrification, such as the option to have even more contact with nature in absolute silence, with 100% electric propulsion”, concluded Aquino.

The Brazilian-spec Jeep Compass S 4xe is available in four colors and has a unique package of equipment. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 360-degree camera.
