Jeep® Sees Explosive Sales Growth in the U.K.

Avenger Leads the Charge as Jeep Sales Nearly Triple in 2024...

The Jeep® brand has achieved an incredible milestone in the United Kingdom, posting an astounding 193% increase in sales by the end of 2024 compared to the previous year. This remarkable growth was accompanied by a 185% boost in market share, bringing Jeep’s presence in the U.K. to 0.46% of the automotive market.

Driving this success is the Jeep Avenger (JJ), the brand’s compact SUV that has been turning heads and winning hearts. Named European Car of the Year for 2023, the Avenger has become a favorite among U.K. drivers, offering multiple powertrain options to suit different lifestyles. Whether you’re looking for a fully electric SUV, a fuel-efficient hybrid, or a reliable gas-powered model, the Avenger has something for everyone.

In 2024, over a quarter (26.09%) of all Jeep models sold in the U.K. were fully electric, thanks largely to the Avenger’s innovative design and flexibility. This compact SUV is Jeep’s first 100% electric model and also comes in an e-Hybrid version equipped with a 1.2-liter gas engine producing 100 horsepower.

To make Jeep more accessible, the brand added 10 new retail locations across the U.K. last year and plans to expand even further in 2025. This retailer growth will be paired with new product launches, including the highly anticipated Avenger 4xe, Jeep’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) hybrid version of the Avenger, and an all-new Compass model.

Kristian Cholmondeley, Jeep UK’s Managing Director, praised the team’s efforts: “2024 was a year of strong growth for the Jeep brand, despite challenging market conditions. The launch of multiple powertrains on Avenger gave us a fantastic offering that resonated with customers. We’re excited to keep this momentum going in 2025 with new models and expanded retail coverage.”

Jeep’s success isn’t limited to the U.K.; the brand exceeded 100,000 sales across Europe in 2024, securing a 1% share of the European passenger car market. This milestone showcases Jeep’s adaptability and its ability to remain true to its core values of freedom and adventure while evolving to meet customer demands.

As Jeep looks to 2025, the addition of the Avenger 4xe promises to deliver the most capable version of the SUV yet, bringing advanced AWD capabilities to its compact lineup. Jeep’s continued growth in the U.K. and Europe highlights its ability to thrive in diverse markets while staying true to its adventurous spirit.

Enough bad news around to now inject some good stuff. The global picture for Jeep has not changed and it’s probably the most recognized and marketable American brand outside the U.S. Sure, our domestic operations have taken a hiccup, but with pricing changes and a new Compass and Cherokee in the wings, things should improve. Ditching the Renegade and Cherokee, even if there was a case for that decision, did not help things.
I have serious reservations about the Wagoneer S but I have stubbornly held high hopes for the Wagoneer sub brand as the luxury model for Jeep. A hybrid version of the S and Dodge Daytona might help these missteps by Stellantis. This injection of good news should refocus fans on how much good news exists in what has recently been launched and will be launched soon. Cautiously optimistic but needing a booster shot in the arm. Hopefully our management team straightens things out. Now roll up our sleeves, this might hurt a bit.
