Jeep® Compass Gets Freedom Edition For 2021 Model Year:
Military-Themed Appearance Package Comes To Compass...
Last year, the Jeep® brand brought back the Freedom Edition to its iconic Wrangler lineup. The Wrangler Freedom Edition was a tribute to the United States military service members, utilizing military-themed exterior and interior design cues. Now, the legendary American brand is expanding its Freedom Edition package to other vehicles throughout the brand’s portfolio.
Enter the 2021 Jeep Compass Freedom Edition. Based on the Compass Sport 4×4, the Compass Freedom Edition creates a new special edition model using several elements fans loved on the Wrangler model. The new Compass Freedom Edition includes the following equipment…
Exterior:
- Oscar Mike “Military Star” Hood Decal
- American Flag Front Door Decals
- Gloss-Black Jeep Badging
- Dark Tinted Windows
- Black-Painted Roof
Interior:
- Black Cloth Seats
- Oscar Mike Embroidered Front Seat Logos
- Light Tungsten Accent Stitching
- Silver Platinum-Accented Radio, Console, and Vent Bezels
Functional:
- 17-Inch X 6.5-Inch Matte-Black Aluminum Wheels
- Fog and Cornering Lamps
- Black Roof Rails
- Front Suspension Skid Plate
- Black Front Tow Hooks
Using much of the Trailhawk model’s exterior styling, the Compass Freedom Edition features an aggressive off-road-oriented appearance over the Sport model on which it is based. It also uses the same wheels found on the Trailhawk model. Since it does not use the same Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system as the off-road-ready Trailhawk, the Freedom Edition is not “Trail Rated”.
The Compass Freedom Edition is only available with one option. The Cold Weather Group will set up back $995 but includes the following features…
- All-Season Floor Mats
- Heated Front Seats
- Heated Steering Wheel
- Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
- Remote-Start System
- Reversible Carpet / Vinyl Cargo-Mat
- Windshield Wiper De-Icer
The Jeep Compass Freedom Edition will be available in your choice of four exterior colors. Those colors include Bright White, Olive Green, Sting-Gray, and Diamond BIack.
Under the hood of the Compass Freedom Edition, is of course the 2.4-liter Tigershark inline-four-cylinder with engine stop-start (ESS) technology. The aging Tigershark motor produces 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a 948TE 9-speed automatic transmission.
Compass Freedom Editions will have a starting U.S. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $25,415. That price excludes the $1,495 for destination charges.
