Jeep® CEO Reveals Wagoneer S Testing In New Zealand

However, This Prototype Is Missing Its Signature Rear Spoiler...

Jeep® brand’s test and development engineers have taken their work to the icy and rugged landscapes of New Zealand, perfecting the performance of the all-new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S. This model, Jeep’s first global battery-electric vehicle (BEV), aims to deliver four-wheel drive (4×4) Jeep capability, coupled with cutting-edge technology and impressive performance, even in the most challenging weather conditions.

Jeep® CEO Antonio Filosa recently shared images of the Wagoneer S undergoing rigorous cold weather testing on his LinkedIn profile. The photos captured the vehicle navigating snowy terrains, showcasing its robust performance in adverse conditions. However, one image revealed a notable design change: the signature cantilevered rear spoiler was missing

“The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S represents the next step in our electrification journey, blending the capability Jeep is known for with state-of-the-art electric vehicle technology,” Filosa stated. “Testing in New Zealand’s harsh winter environment is crucial to ensure this vehicle performs exceptionally in all conditions.”

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is designed as a BEV, boasting more than 300 miles of range on a single charge. It delivers a powerful 600 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 3.4 seconds, and produces 617 lb.-ft of instant torque. These impressive performance credentials are enhanced by the Jeep-exclusive Selec-Terrain™ traction management system, which includes five distinct driving modes: Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, and Sand, ensuring optimal performance across diverse terrains and weather conditions.

Equipped with standard all-electric, 4×4, the Wagoneer S features Stellantis-designed electric drive modules (EDMs) that independently power the front and rear wheels, providing instant torque response and efficient power distribution. The front EDM includes wheel disconnects to reduce energy consumption during cruising, optimizing the vehicle’s range.

The development of the Jeep Wagoneer S also includes significant advancements in noise and vibration reduction, creating a quieter cabin and smoother ride. By improving body torsion stiffness by 35% over previous midsize-segment Jeep SUVs, the engineering team has enhanced the vehicle’s ride, handling, and driver response.

Set to launch first in the U.S. and Canada later this year, with a global release planned for 2025.

I love New Zealand you can literally see all seasons and all climates and all different Scenery in an Hour drive. Beach, Desert, thick forest, and Snowy mountain peaks.

Isn't it more likely that they are shooting an ad then actual testing?

From the photos, the Wagoneer S still has minor camouflage and is clearly a prototype because it still has testing stickers.

Noted, but with CGI that can be cleaned up.
