Jeep® Brand Continues To Grow In The Swiss Market:

Renegade Pushes Brand To Its Best Year Yet...

Last year, the Jeep® brand confirmed its position in the country of Switzerland taking 1.7% of the country’s market share. In the growing market of Switzerland (which grew 3.9% during 2019), the iconic Jeep brand surpassed 5,000 (with 5,142) new vehicles registered for the first time, compared to the 4,843 registered in 2018 (an increase of 6.2%). This has put the Jeep brand among the top-20 automotive brands in the Swiss market.

The entire model lineup contributed to the growth of the brand. Starting with the recently updated Renegade, which increased sales by 50% partially thanks to the introduction of the new 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine offering 180 horsepower. The legendary Wrangler nameplate grew 13% in sales, while the brand’s flagship Grand Cherokee stabilized with over 1,200 new vehicles registered and taking third place in the large SUV segment.  

The Jeep dealer network has also grown from 37 to 47 dealers in a two-year time span.

For the 2020 model year, the Jeep brand is looking to gain even more market share in the Swiss market with the introduction of three new plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The new 2020 Jeep Compass and Renegade 4xe models will make their official launch half-way through the model year. The new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe will also make its official debut in the four-quarter of 2020. This will help the brand expand within the Swiss market, which features gas prices that are equal to around $6.00 USD a gallon depending on the grade of gasoline.

Jeep will also be launching its new Gladiator by the end of 2020, will allow the brand to establish itself in the growing pickup segment.
