After years of waiting, they are finally here. The first batch of 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat models is starting to arrive in dealer showrooms. The Durango SRT Hellcat is the most powerful SUV ever, delivering 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque from the proven supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V8 engine and is being built alongside its corporate sibling the 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit.
The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is a single model year run, with 2,000 units being built in total. Dodge//SRT announced that all 2,000 units of the Durango SRT Hellcat were SOLD! However, there were some high-volume dealers that were allowed additional allocations only a week before they closed ordering, which allows us to believe there might be a handful floating around dealer lots still unclaimed. This means that the Durango SRT Hellcat will be rarer than the limited edition 840 horsepower 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which produced 3,312 units in total.
The Durango SRT Hellcat has a 0-60 mile-per-hour (mph) time of 3.5 seconds, a quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds as certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), and a top speed of 180 mph. All of that performance comes with a starting U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $80,995, excluding $1,495 destination.
Those who were lucky enough to purchase a 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will also receive one full-day session at the Bondurant High-Performance Driving School in Chandler, Arizona, as part of the Dodge//SRT Package and have the opportunity to learn how to get the optimum performance from their new vehicles in a controlled environment.
This particular 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is available at Chicago Motors Cars in West Chicago, Illinois.
