HOLY GUACAMOLE: A Dodge Challenger Worth Remembering

Celebrating the Unique 2020 Dodge Challenger 'Holy Guacamole' Concept...

On December 22, we marked the one-year anniversary of the last Dodge Challenger rolling off the Brampton Assembly line. This milestone gave us the perfect reason to reminisce about some of the most unforgettable versions of the modern-day Dodge Challenger, which graced roads from 2008 to 2023. Today, our focus is on the 2020 Dodge Challenger ‘Holy Guacamole’ Concept—a unique homage to Dodge’s muscle car heritage with a contemporary twist.

A Retro Take on a Modern Icon –

Built on the 2020 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody 50th Anniversary Edition, the ‘Holy Guacamole’ Concept blended modern performance with 1970s-inspired design. Originally slated for a 2020 unveiling, the car’s debut was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually premiering at the 2021 SEMA Show.

The exterior, painted in a custom green shade aptly named “Rotten Avocado,” featured a custom “Gold School” Shaker hood scoop, tone-on-tone ’50th’ side stripes, and staggered 20-inch Forgeline wheels adorned with vintage-inspired “Fratzog” center caps (a nod to Dodge’s logo change for 2024). A Mopar coil-over suspension lowering kit completed the aggressive, retro-inspired stance.

Under the Hood –

The heart of this concept was a 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) ‘Apache’ HEMI® V8 engine producing 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. A Mopar cold-air intake system enhanced performance, while the 8-speed TorqueFlite 8HP70 automatic transmission ensured smooth power delivery.

Stepping Inside the Past –

The interior of the ‘Holy Guacamole’ embraced nostalgia with wood-panel trim and green-and-yellow plaid fabric inserts on the seats and door panels—a nod to early-1970s aesthetics. To top it off, the passenger-side badge bore the phrase “Holy Guacamole,” further reinforcing the vehicle’s unique character.

A Concept Worth Celebrating –

That green should get greenlit for production cars, including the Charger obviously..

Considering the '''green''' credentials of the Daytona models, still a little surprised they didn't give it a shade of it for first colors. If they wanted to start with a more new palette, would've brought It's Not Green from that one time people got to vote on colors.
