Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has announced its plans to introduce a new limited-edition based on the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. The new limited-edition “Mammoth 1000” models will incorporate HPE’s HPE1000 kit for the Hellcat engine in a turn-key package that also features a number of advancements.
The HPE1000 performance upgrade has already seen its way under the hood of several Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models, as well as the Hellcat-powered Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Most recently, HPE announced the package would be available for owners of the upcoming limited-edition 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat as well.
The performance upgrade includes an upgraded supercharger, pulley upgrades, stainless-steel headers, high-flow exhaust, and HPE tuning. The package should be good to push the TRX’s Hellcat engine to 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb.-ft. of torque. That is an improvement of 310 horsepower and 319 lb.-ft. of torque over the stock output.
The Mammoth 1000 also includes the Mammoth Off-Road Stage 1 package, numerous off-road goodies including a 2.5-inch lift, custom front bumper with integrated LED lights, 20-Inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels, 35-Inch off-road tires, and a front suspension leveling kit. A retractable electronic bed cover and power fold-out steps are also included.
As a turn-key product, the Mammoth 1000 cost includes the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX in which it is based upon. The Mammoth 1000 has a U.S. MSRP of $135,350 not including delivery. While HPE didn’t say which spec of the Ram 1500 TRX its package will be based on, we expect it to be based on the entry-level TR Equipment Package.
HPE expects the new truck to be capable of putting down a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and able to run the quarter-mile in 11.4 @ 120 mph. In its stock form, the TRX is capable of 4.5 seconds and a quarter-mile of 12.9 seconds at 108 mph.

We reached out to HPE about its limited-edition run of 3 “Mammoth 6×6” pickups that the specialty tuner it announced back in September and if it intends to still sell those units with the announcement of the Mammoth 1000. As of the writing of this article, we have not heard back from them. The Mammoth 6×6 was to feature the 1,000 horsepower Hellephant engine as well as 6-wheel-drive (6×6) for a price of $500,000. To us, that package makes so sense considering what you are getting with the much cheaper Mammoth 1000 package.
