Flashback Friday: We Get A Look Inside 2019 Ram 1500 Production:

Sterling Heights Assembly Plant Is The Future Of Ram Trucks...

Back in June, one of our sister site’s (5thGenRams.com) forum members, provided us with a behind  the scenes look at the manufacturing process of the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 at the recently revamped Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Michigan. All of the new generation (DT) Ram 1500s are produced at SHAP, by a workforce of over 7,200 employees. The plant itself is over 5 million square feet and features more than 1,100 state-of-the-art robotics, which work in perfect harmony.

The plant received a $1.48 billion investment in 2017, to make the facility into the most advanced assembly plant that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has in the United States. SHAP can easily produce over 500,000 trucks a year with it’s new configuration, surpassing the Warren Truck Assembly Plant which currently builds the last generation Ram 1500.
