For the past 18 years, the Mopar brand has closed off the streets of Golden, Colorado the day before the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals Presented by Pennzoil in July, to kick off the weekend of racing. The free-admission is a fan favorite, whether you are a Mopar fan or not. This year, our own MoparInsiders.com contributor, host of Cody’s Car Conundrum podcast, and Dodge Viper fanatic, Cody Wagner was on hand to take part in the festivities.
Cody ends up giving us a good look at the huge block party which is full of awesome vintage and Mopar cars, trucks, and everything in between. This year, renowned gearhead and TV/radio personality Willie B. served as the MC with co-host, automotive celebrity and podcast star Jeff Allen. While Dodge//SRT featured their Dodge Challenger SRT Demon simulators on hand, handed out free merchandise to fans, and featured a night of good food and even better drinks. Of course, there is live music on hand, courtesy of the Steve Thomas Band.
The Mopar Big Block Party is also a great chance to meet your favorite NHRA Mopar driver, like Matt Hagan, Leah Pritchett, Jack Beckman, Tommy Johnson Jr., Cruz Pedregon, or Jim Campbell. So take a walk down the main street of Golden, Colorado with Cody as he shows you from a fan’s perspective the biggest Mopar party in the State of Colorado.
