Finale Speed Debuts Carbon-Fiber 1970 Dodge Charger Turn-Key Package

During Dodge Speed Weeks in August, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis announced that Direct Connection is also collaborating with Finale Speed of Yukon, Oklahoma, to license a 1970 Dodge Charger carbon fiber body that can be built into a complete, finished vehicle. The carbon fiber-bodied cars are engineered to OEM specifications to create the iconic Mopar look with the feel and performance of modern muscle cars.

Finale Speed revealed its first fully carbon-fiber-bodied 1970 Dodge Charger at the West Palm Beach Barrett-Jackson Auction this weekend. The iconic muscle car is licensed by Dodge Direct Connection and available for purchase through any Dodge Direct Connection dealer or directly from Finale Speed.

The Finale Speed Charger exemplifies the company’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship, as evidenced by the 3,500 build hours that went into its creation. As a result, the exposed-weave carbon-fiber body is aesthetically pleasing, lightweight, and durable. The engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT crate capable of producing 707 horsepower.

A TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission and a 9-inch rear end with a 3.70 gear ratio and Posi-traction limited-slip differential (LSD) round out the drivetrain. Detroit Speed front and rear subframes with JRi coil-overs, a prominent Detroit Speed front swaybar, and a custom perimeter chassis make up the suspension. The steering system is a Detroit Speed Power Race and Pinion system. The brakes are 6-piston Wilwood calipers with 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled, vented rotors up front and 4-piston Wilwood calipers with 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled ones, and vented rotors up the rear with adjustable rear proportioning valve.

The Finale Speed Charger’s exterior is just as impressive as the mechanics under the hood. The body panels are prepreg carbon fiber, and the car features modern LED taillights. The gas cap is a Mopar original, and the front and rear glass is flush-mounted. Forgeline three-piece wheels in 18-inch x 8-inch show and 18-inch x 11-inch are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Sport Z-rated tires.

The Finale Speed Charger’s interior is equally stunning, with RECARO leather seats with custom stitching and 5-point cam lock seatbelts. Custom carbon fiber gauges and Alcantara console with matching stitching. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped aluminum, Old Air Products provide the climate controls, the headliner is custom, and the sound deadening is a complete Dynamite installation. The audio system comprises a JVC Double-DIN screen with Navigation, Focal 2-way components, a Focal 600-watt subwoofer with custom enclosure, and a Mosconi five-channel amplifier.

You can purchase a Finale Speed carbon fiber 1970 Dodge Charger in two ways. The first option starts at $199,000, and you can buy a rolling car chassis. That will give you a great starting base to create your own carbon fiber Charger project car. The second option is to buy a turn-key example from Finale Speed, allowing you to have a completed version (like the car shown here). Prices for the turn-key version will set you back at least $449,000.
