FIAT Launches Its 500e Outside Of Europe For The First Time:
Israel Becomes The First Country Outside Europe To Get The Electric City Car...
While Americans were celebrating Independence Day on July 4th, the FIAT brand was celebrating the 64th birthday of its beloved 500 (Cinquecento) nameplate. FIAT kicked off the celebration by introducing its all-new electric 500e to the first country outside its initial European market, with its launch in Israel. The new 500e is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Turin, the new 500e is the first model in FIAT history to be full-electric and 100% Made-In-Italy.
The FIAT brand recently announced that it would be going to an all-electric lineup starting in 2024.
The Fiat 500e is a benchmark in range and charging speed, and is capable of 320 kilometers (198 miles) on the WLTP cycle with its 42-kWh lithium-ion batteries. With an 85-kW fast charger, it only takes 5 minutes to charge up enough to travel 50 kilometers (31 miles). To charge the battery to roughly 80%, it only takes 35 minutes.
When it comes to performance, 500e’s Passion, Icon, and la Prima models are fitted with an 87-kW (118 horsepower) electric motor that offers a top speed of 150 km/h or 93 mph (self-limiting), acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 9.0 seconds and 0-50 km/h (0 to 31 mph) in 3.1 seconds.
With the Action variant, a 70-kW (94 horsepower) e-motor with 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) acceleration in 9.5 seconds, top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph), and a range of 190 kilometers (118 miles) (WLTP cycle).
All four trims will be available for the 500e’s Israeli lineup. The Action model will be available at the same price as the last generation with the internal combustion engine (ICE) thanks to incentives. All three body styles will also be available, with Cabrio, Hatchback, and 3+1 making up the lineup.
The 500e also features Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), making it easier, safer, simpler, and more fun to drive, as well as being the first car in its segment equipped with Assisted Driving Level 2.
500e also is fitted with the new 10.25-inch touchscreen display equipped with the new Uconnect 5 (R1) infotainment system. The system features over-the-air updates and can be paired with two smartphones at once in under 5 seconds.
The new 500e, has received 10 awards even before it had been launched, including the Red Dot Award, the IF Design Award, and “Green Car” at the Automobile Awards, now that the new 500e has official gone on sale throughout Europe, it lands in Israel to take its first steps toward the rest of the world.
