FIAT Adding More Color Back Into The 500e Lineup For 2022?
Unseen Color On 500e, Shows You Can Live Past Its EcoFriendly Image...
The new electrified Fiat 500e city car plays an integral part in the brand’s path toward total electrification. When launched, FIAT introduced the third-generation 500e with ecofriendly interior materials and a color palette with nature-inspired colors. It was a far different cry than the traditional bright Italian colors of the brand’s past. Going into the second model year of the new electrified 500e, that might be changing according to some new spy photos of the 500e.
Our friends at GabetzSPYUnit, have caught a 2022 Fiat 500e 3+1 Passion on the streets in minor camouflage in a new red exterior.
For those who aren’t familiar with the 3+1 model, it adds a third “small door” opens in the opposite direction (similar to the original 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab opening rear doors), and given the lack of a center panel in the door itself, means someone can jump inside the back seat of the new 500e more comfortably. This also helps with loading and unloading large items from the back seat or putting a child in their car seat.
Once the door is shut, you really can’t tell a difference from the 3+1 to a standard 500e.
Acting as the entry-level model for the 500e 3+1, the Passion trim features 15-inch steel wheels with bi-color paint, electric door handles with e-latch system, either a white or black painted dashboard, 7-inch DAB+ (Uconnect 5) touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ wireless connectivity, and fabric interiors with Seaqual® Yarn containing recycled marine plastics.
When comes to the exterior colors, FIAT has moved away from the bright colors that the 500 series is known for. In their place have been more earth tones going with the eco-friendly message of the new electric car. The current exterior color offerings include colors like Celestial Blue, Mineral Grey, and Ocean Green are a far cry from the 2019 Fiat 500 color choices. The 2019 model had colors like Brillant Red (Rosso Brillante), Italia Blue, and Spitfire.
Hopefully, this means FIAT is listening to its customer base and saying not everything surrounding the Fiat 500e has to be focused on the environment and the next-generation city car, can be marketing like the rest of the 500 lineups as a practical, stylish, and fun machine.
