Dodge Drops The Details On Its 2022 Durango Lineup For Mexico!

It might be a little slow, but Dodge Mexico has now officially released details for its 2022 Dodge Durango lineup. Consisting of four trim levels, the 2022 Dodge Durango is the only three-row SUV in the Mexican lineup, as the Chinese-built Dodge Journey is only offered in a two-row version. Dodge Mexico believes that its new positioning strategy for Durango will help the vehicle offer a more familiar and dynamic orientation.

The Durango GT offers the best value for the money when it comes to choosing a three-row SUV with many attributes both in terms of passenger capacity and equipment. Under the hood is the award-winning 3.6-liter “Pentastar” V6, delivering 295 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to an 8-speed 850RE “TorqueFlite” automatic transmission.

Durango GT’s powertrain is characterized by its robustness, elasticity, and efficiency in fuel consumption. In addition, it offers a towing capacity of almost 3 tons, ideal for transporting motorcycles or go-karts, without compromising mechanical durability.

For the Mexican market, the Durango GT comes standard with the larger 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, GPS Navigation, and voice recognition.

All Durango GT models come with a sporty treatment, such as a honeycomb grille, 20-Inch x 8.0-Inch Fine-Silver aluminum wheels, full LED lighting, body-colored exterior mirrors, dual exhaust system, and power hatch and sunroof. 

Inside, there is tri-zone climate control, leather seats, heated flat-bottom “Sport” steering wheel, cruise control, ambient LED lighting, driver’s seat with 8-way power adjustment, fold-flat third-row seats, vanity mirrors, and rear privacy glass.

Durango GT models come in two exterior colors for the 2022 model year (White Knuckle and DB Black). Pricing for the Mexican market 2022 Dodge Durango GT begins at $930,000 MXN (or about $46,092 USD).

The Durango R/T takes the best attributes of the Durango GT and amps up the power thanks to the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that delivers 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Mated to a ZF-sourced 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission, the Durango R/T has a towing capacity of over 3 tons, perfect for towing a boat or car for fun on a track day.

Integrating components from the SRT model, improving performance such as a performance hood with air intake, aggressive front, and rear fascias, and sporty side sills. Prominent HEMI® badges on the front fenders hint at the V8 performance underneath the hood.
 
Inside, there is premium Nappa leather-trimmed seats, acoustic front glass, an electrochromic rearview mirror, wireless phone charger, LED ambient lighting, illuminated cup holders, perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated second-row seats, and Harman Kardon® audio system consisting of 19 speakers, subwoofer and 900-watt amplifier.
 
The Durango R/T is available in two exterior colors like the GT, (White Knuckle and DB Black). Pricing for the 2022 Dodge Durango R/T starts at $1,140,000 MXN (or about $56,500 USD).

Dodge Durango SRT392 –

 It is the fastest, most powerful, and most capable three-row SUV in its category thanks to its 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, derived from its 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) SRT HEMI V8 engine, mated to a ZF-sourced 8-speed 8HP70 “TorqueFlite” automatic transmission with SRT-tuned all-wheel-drive (AWD). Capable of covering the 1/4-mile, certified by the National Hot Rod Association, in 12.9 seconds, and a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, and a top speed of 289 km/h (180 mph). It also has a towing capacity of up to 4 tons, ideal for hauling a sailboat, travel trailer, or some weak competitor SUV.

For performance fans, the high-performance four-wheel independent suspension offers an adaptive damping system, and likewise, it has an exclusive AWD system. For its part, the high-performance Brembo® SRT braking system is made up of 4 discs, with 6-piston calipers for the front axle and 4-piston for the rear.

The body integrates multiple functional elements such as spoilers, and air intakes, as well as the exclusive functional SRT hood with a central air duct and two heat extractors, as well as a new front fascia with a cold air intake and LED fog lights. The Hyper Black aluminum wheels are 20 inches, mounted on high-performance Pirelli 295/45 ZR20 tires.

Durango SRT392 features the exclusive Performance Pages app, providing access to real-time vehicle performance information, including timers (such as 0-100 km/h or 0-60 mph acceleration time), G-forces, gauges, and engine performance. This data can be downloaded to a USB memory stick or SD card, allowing this data to be shared with other users.

The 2022 Dodge Durango SRT392 is able in three color combinations (DB Black with Sterling Silver dual stripes, White Knuckle with Redline Red / Black dual stripes, or White Knuckle with Low-Gloss Gunmetal dual stripes). Pricing for the Durango SRT392 starts at $1,490,000 MXN (or about $73,752).
