FCA Canada Releases Sales Numbers For The Canadian Marketplace:
Ram Trucks Lead The Way For Canadian Sales...
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA Canada) released its third-quarter sales for the Canadian market yesterday. With the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) pandemic still effecting sales, the company posted an 11% decrease over last year’s number with a total of 54,399 vehicles sold during the quarter.
“Every month in the third quarter showed improved recovery, with September recording retail growth versus 2019,” said David Buckingham, President and CEO, FCA Canada.
Jeep® Brand:
The Jeep brand posted a total of 17,172 units sold during the quarter. It was a 16% decrease in sales compared to the same time last year. Leading the way for the brand was the iconic Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited with 7,061, a 2% increase over the numbers from the Q3 of 2019.

Ram Brand:
Despite strong sales, the Ram brand posted a 4% decrease in sales over the same period last year. The Ram brand sold a total of 28,391 units during the quarter. It was led by the Ram 1500 pickup sales.

Chrysler Brand:
The Chrysler brand had a total of 868 units leave dealer lots during the third quarter of 2020. Chrysler announced that it would be releasing a new vehicle for the Canadian marketplace to fill the gap left by the Dodge Grand Caravan, with the introduction of the 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan. Minivan sales continue to be a huge part of the success of the brand in Canada.

Dodge Brand:
The performance muscle car brand showed a 19% loss during the quarter. The brand managed to sell a total of 7,660 units during that time. Leading the way was the outgoing Dodge Grand Caravan with 72% of the brand’s total sales.

Alfa Romeo Brand:
The premium Italian performance brand of Alfa Romeo posted a 15% increase in sales during Q3. There was a total of 234 units sold during the quarter.

Fiat Brand:
The Fiat brand has almost become nonexistent in the Canadian marketplace. During the Q3 period, there were only 74 vehicles sold for the entire brand. That is a decrease of 34%, as the brand continues to fall despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The 124 Spider led sales for the brand, making up 77% of the brand’s total sales.

A notable mention was earned by Gladiator. As the most capable midsize Jeep truck ever, Gladiator sales rose 94% to set a second consecutive quarterly sales record.
