Jeep Continues Its Formula From 2021, With Minor Improvements...
It’s 2022, and the Jeep® brand has released details on its 2022 Jeep Gladiator midsize pickup lineup. Engineered to be the most capable Jeep pickup ever, the Gladiator continues to offer rich Jeep heritage with rugged utility, an open-air design, full of functionality, and versatility. So we figured we would go through the new changes to the lineup for the new model year and get you all caught up to speed with everything surrounding the 2022 Jeep Gladiator.
First off, both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 return to the lineup. Both engines offer Engine Stop-Start (ESS) capability and are offered with 8-speed automatic transmissions (the Pentastar comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission). The Pentastar delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, while the EcoDiesel produces an impressive 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. Those Gladiator models equipped with the Pentastar feature up to 1,700 lbs. of payload and up 7,650 lbs. of towing capacity thanks to the available Max Towing Package available on Sport and Sport S models.
Equipped with a versatile box, a body-on-frame design, front and rear five-link suspension system, solid axles, and electronic lockers, Gladiator is one of the few midsize trucks to still offer a manual transmission. Gladiator is built to handle the demands of an active lifestyle while delivering an open-air driving experience in a design that is unmistakably Jeep.
A multitude of technology features, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and safety features, such as Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Forward Collision Warning-Plus (FCW+), enhance Gladiator’s appeal. Combining traditional Jeep attributes with strong truck credentials, the Jeep Gladiator is a unique vehicle with unsurpassed capability.
