EVENTS: WAMM Spring Fling 3 At St. Thomas Raceway Park:
Windsor Area Modern Mopar Group Host 3rd Annual Drag Racing Event...
There is a lot of Mopar goodness going on around Ontario at the end of this month. The other day, we told you about our friend Dave Hayes hosting an event at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario, where he will be giving thrill rides. Now our friends at the Windsor Area Modern Mopar (WAMM) group are holding their 3rd annual Spring Fling on Saturday, May 25th at the St. Thomas Raceway Park in Sparta, Ontario.
For those who aren’t familiar with the WAMM group, they are a community of lovers and owners of modern-day Mopars in and around the Windsor, Ontario area. Last year, the group had over 300 participants in its Spring Fling event and the event continues to grow each year.
Spring Fling is a full day of drag racing at St. Thomas Raceway Park. There will be four bracket racing classes open to Mopar racers…
- 12.99-second and faster
- 13.00-second and slower
- Truck Class (Open To All)
- B&M Memorial Bracket Class (Open To All)
Double classing is permitted. All cars must pass inspection by the in-house inspectors. If a car doesn’t pass inspection, it doesn’t get to race that day. DOT-approved helmets are required for the races and all articles must be removed from the trunk of the vehicle.
There is a $25 spectator fee, however, racing in the B&M class will cost $35 and tech cards are $45. Gates will open at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. Free weekend camping is available. For more information, visit the official event page on Facebook.
Although the MoparInsiders staff will be at the event with our friend Dave Hayes in Grand Bend during the weekend, we will more than likely making a stop at the WAMM event as well to watch the action. We hope to see all those who can make it there.
