Mopar and the Jeep® brand earlier this year introduced the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 1941 at Geneva International Motor Show. Now the two brands are showcasing their production-spec Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 1941 for the first time. This model features a ton of goodies from the Mopar brand’s Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) catalog for the European market.
The Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 1941 is fitted with JPP that enhance and build on its legendary off-road capability. For proof, look no further than the 2-inch suspension lift kit, the snorkel, rock rails, black door sill, black fuel filler door, and the all-weather mats. While a new 1941 livery, commemorates an important year for the Jeep brand… the first appearance of the original Willys MB Jeep.
The 1941 heritage is evoked on several different parts of the vehicle such as the wheel, gear knob, and tailgate table. The vehicle is also enhanced with other JPP selected from the Jeep Wrangler parts catalog such as a matte black seven-slot front grille, mudguards, off-road lights, and mirror caps, all contrasting with the Ocean Blue Metallic Clear Coat paint.
The new Jeep Wrangler 1941 package will be available after the summer on all Wrangler 2.2-liter diesel models, and on all trims, including Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The 2.2-liter Multiair II turbo diesel features second-generation MultiJet technology, the new, efficient 2.2-liter diesel engine features four valves per cylinder, a belt-driven Double Over Head Camshafts (DOHC), 2,000-bar Common Rail injection system, solenoid injectors, Electronic Start/Stop (ESS), and a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). Mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine delivers 200 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and a torque of 332 ft.-lb (450 Nm) at 2,000 rpm.
