Jeep® Was The Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) Leader In Italy For 2022!

Italian-Built Renegade & Compass Dominated Their Segments...

With 2022 in the books, the Jeep® brand is celebrating its continuing success in the Italian market place. Thanks to the American adventure brand’s 4xe technology, Jeep has become one of the hottest brands in the country.

Dominating the Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) market, Jeep took a share of 16.3% of the segment. That is an increase of 5% over 2021. Jeep’s share in the LEV sector was permanently above 15%, with peaks above 20%: this means that one in five Italian motorists choose a Jeep 4xe SUV when looking at an LEV.

The success is due to the “Made-In-Italy” duo of the Compass and Renegade 4xe, the best-selling electrified vehicles in Italy in their respective segments. Compass, in particular, is number one in the LEV market and in the C-UV segment, with a 23% market share. The Renegade was the second best-selling LEV in the country but controls the B-UV segment with a share of 52%.

But while a majority of the success goes to the smaller offerings in the Jeep portfolio, the iconic Wrangler Unlimited 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe have also joined the lineup to ensure most of the SUV segments are covered.

With the recent launch of the 2023 Jeep Avenger, the brand’s first battery-electric vehicle (BEV), Jeep is looking to continue its success into 2023.

Consistent with the ‘Zero Emission Freedom’ mission, the Jeep brand is already exploring new avenues to anticipate consumer desires and the mobility of the future, and recently announced a comprehensive plan for the new generation of all-electric vehicles as part of a sustainable transformation with which it intends to become the world’s leading brand of electrified SUVs.

The program includes the introduction of four all-electric SUVs in North America and Europe by the end of 2025 so that by 2030 the sales of the Jeep brand in the United States will be 50% represented by all-electric vehicles, while by that date European sales will be 100% full-electric cars.
