DS 3 Crossback E-Tense Adds More Range For New Model Year!
An 7% Increase In Range According To The WLTP Cycle...
With an electrification strategy in place since its creation, DS Automobiles is the multi-energy brand with the lowest average CO2 emissions in Europe (100.2 g/km of CO2 according to the WLTP cycle per registered car in the first half of 2021) and more than a third of its cars electrified. This strategy is accelerating: from 2024, every new DS Automobiles model will be exclusively 100% electric.
The first 100% electric model in the range is developing. On sale since 2019, DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE now has been updated to achieve a range of 341 kilometers (or about 212 miles) according to the WLTP combined cycle, an increase of nearly 7%.
The touch controls and the central air vents are diamond-shaped beneath a wide 10-inch screen. It displays the main controls and in particular, brings the driver aids together in one place. The heat pump, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), the ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, the ESP, Lane Keeping Assist, Hill Start Assist, Rear Park Assist, everything such as automatic air conditioning, the leather steering wheel, eight airbags, and flush-fitting door handles are standard, no matter what the specification level.
In the higher Performance Line specification, you’ll find the latest generation innovations such as DS Connect Navigation, DS Connect Box connectivity and intelligent DS Matrix LED vision lighting, and also Proximity Keyless Entry & Start which enables the flush-fitting door handles to glide out of the bodywork when the keyholder gets to within 5 feet of the car. You’ll also have this equipment in the Grand Chic version which enjoys a Heads-Up Display (HUD) and leather upholstery. In its 100% electric guise, DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE stands out with Satin Chrome DS Wings, an Anthracite Grey grille, and integrated E-TENSE badges. The rear bumper is also unique. The 18-inch KYOTO alloy wheels and the new Pearl Crystal color are also offered.
During the development, priority was given to the real-life usage of DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE. Notably, the heat pump has been developed with a moisture sensor for increased efficiency. Offered as standard, the heat pump enables heat to be produced by compression to generate hot air. Energy consumption is greatly reduced by it.
The result of continued development and constant discussion with the Formula E championship-winning team supported by DS Performance, the gear ratio has also been perfected to improve DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE’s efficiency.
The range gain in real-life usage is lastly through the adoption of new 17-inch A-rated tires developed by Continental. Offered in 215/60 R17 96H size, the Continental EcoContact™ 6 Q introduces a new compound with high silica technology to improve rolling resistance and reduce noise emissions.
In France, DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE is offered from €31,600 (or about $35,425 USD) including an environmental grant with a charger that’s 100kW (DC) and 11kW (AC).
