Dodge Will Be Title Sponsor Of Third Straight Indy Race:

Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil To Be Held Instead Of Mile-High Nationals...

The Dodge brand will be the title sponsor of the third race this season at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, on August 6th to the 9th the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) announced this past week. The event will be called the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil.

The Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals will be the fifth race of the altered 2020 season and the third race at Indy in a row, after a return to racing from a four-month hiatus to the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) pandemic. The event will feature racing from all four of the title series (Mello Yello Drag Racing Series) categories which includes the 11,000+ horsepower Funny Car and Top Fuel classes.

With changes made to the NHRA points due to the COVID-19 schedule change, there will not be a point reset for the Countdown to the Championship for the 2020 season. This makes every round of racing crucial to the competitors this season, as they set their eyes on the NHRA championship title.

The third race at Indy replaces the previously slated 32nd edition of the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway near Denver, Colorado, on August 7th to 9th. The Dodge-sponsored event, which boasts the longest continuous sponsorship in the NHRA and one of the longest in all of motorsports, has been postponed due to pandemic-related issues but hopes to be rescheduled for a later date this season.

If you are looking to attend the Indy race, Indiana state and health guidelines allow a limited number of fans to attend the event. For tickets, they are currently on sale and must be purchased by visiting NHRA.com/tickets or calling 800-884-NHRA.
