Dodge decided to create a little bit of hype this morning, by posting a drawing of a widebody Challenger with a unique dual scoop hood on it’s Instagram account this morning. In the first hour alone, the post had received over 24,000 likes. The post contained the phrase “Even more sinister” as the tag line.
We have been posting a lot of pictures of the supposed “Drag Pack” Challenger coming for 2019. Those cars all featured the hood from the SRT Demon. But since the Demon is a limited edition, it makes sense to continue with a ram air hood, but something different to keep the Demon buyers feeling unique.
Last month, Instagram user HELLCAT_562 posted the photo shown above, however it was taken down not to much longer. It looks to be the same hood featured in the drawing from this morning’s post on the Dodge Instagram account. It is a widebody coming down the assembly line at Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario; the plant that currently manufactures the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger.

UPDATE: Dodge released the following statement and a couple of photos of the new hood on the FCA US Media page.
“Dodge is again reaching back to its 100-plus-year history as it evolves the Challenger lineup for 2019, introducing a new dual-snorkel hood on Hellcat models that pays homage to the distinctive Mopar design themes from some of its most famous muscle cars. This new fully functional hood harkens back to the mid-60s and early-70s, but with a modern interpretation that looks even more sinister and provides maximum air intake to the supercharged powerplant. More information to come this summer …” (FCA Media)
What we currently don’t know is, if this hood will be an optional hood or will it be standard on SRT HELLCAT models. We also don’t know if it just for widebody models or for the standard SRT HELLCATs as well.
