Maserati Teases Its New Super Sports Car One Last Time, Before Big Debut:

Mid-Engined 621 Horsepower Sports Car, Coming Wednesday...

With only two days left before its launch, the Maserati brand is gearing up for its new super sports car – the Maserati MC20. The brand has posted another teaser of the upcoming mid-engined car on social media, as well as it’s new global campaign leading up to the unveiling. The teasers come as a new series of spy shots, show us a few more details about the production version’s front end styling.

The September 9th debut was represented by the Maserati brand, by showing the “trident” logo with the date of the debut, highlighted on well-known buildings across the globe. Locations such as Venice, London, New York, and Paris were showcased.

Over the last week, the Italian premium brand has been giving us a sneak peek at the MC20 on social media. The car has been highlighted in three short videos, which has shown us the silhouette of the new mid-engined supercar.

There has also been a series of spy photos from our friend Walter Vayr of GabetzSpyUnit, that shows us the car in its final form out testing on open roads. The car looks a lot different from the Alfa Romeo 4C mules that we had originally seen when the car made during its initial testing debut. While the camouflage still covers a lot of the details of the mid-engined Maserati, we get to see the overall shape in detail of the final product. These latest photos show us the use of S-ducts on the car. S-ducts are used to manage air more efficiently around the car, and thus improving the car’s aerodynamic profile.

The car to be released on Wednesday, will be powered only by an internal combustion engine (ICE). It was recently unveiled that Maserati is planning to use it’s all-new in-house designed 3.0-liter “Nettuno” twin-turbo V6. The new power unit is a V90° architecture and features a dry-sump (a classic solution on super sportscars). It delivers 630CV (or about 621 horsepower) at 7500rpm and 730 Nm (or 538 lb.-ft) of torque from 3000 rpm with a specific power output of 210CV/liter (or 207 horsepower/liter).

We will be covering the unveiling of the Maserati MC20 super sports car, throughout the day on Wednesday, so stay tuned.
