Mille Miglia 2018: The Alfa Romeo Legend Continues to Inspire:

Racing Goes To The Alfa Romeo Historical Museum...

This year marks the 90th anniversary since Alfa Romeo’s first victory at the Mille Miglia. Mille Miglia is Italian for “One Thousand Miles”. The Mille Miglia was an open-road endurance race which took place in Italy for 24 years (1927-1957, with a hiatus during World War II). Since 1977, Mille Miglia was reborn in the form of a road rally event or timed trials for vintage and classic cars. Cars that enter are limited to being in production no later than 1957, which were attended for racing in the original event. The race takes place in Italy beginning next Wednesday, May 16th and will run through Saturday, May 19th.

This year, the iconic race will also pass for the first time through the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese, and, after 70 years, it will pass through the center of Milan, as well.

Alfa Romeo launched its celebration of this year’s Mille Miglia with a short video…

For the past two years, Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini have won the event with their 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS entry.
