A newly spotted camouflaged van riding on Stellantis’ “K0” midsize platform might be our first look at a future North American commercial vehicle. Captured by sharp-eyed photographer Walter Vayr (@GabetzSPYUnit), the prototype appears similar to existing Fiat vans sold in Europe, but some unique details have led to speculation that this could be a future Ram ProMaster City, slated for a possible 2026 launch.
Ram’s Compact Van Plans Taking Shape –

While Ram hasn’t officially confirmed anything, sources close to MoparInsiders have reported for over a year that a replacement for the now-retired ProMaster City is in the works. That model exited the U.S. and Canadian markets after 2022, leaving a gap in the small van segment, especially with Ford also discontinuing the Transit Connect in North America.
The camouflaged prototype seen here may offer a clue to what’s next. Though similar in size and shape to the Fiat Scudo and Ulysse, this van features badge mounts on the lower front doors, exactly where Ram typically places its R-A-M lettering. It’s a small detail, but one that aligns with ongoing rumors.
A Familiar Platform, New Branding –

The likely foundation of this new Ram van is the Fiat E-Scudo, currently sold in Europe as an electric commercial van. The E-Scudo offers:
-
Up to 205 miles (330 km) of range
-
Two available battery sizes
-
Payload capacity up to 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg)
-
Cargo volume of 233 cubic feet (6.6 cubic meters)
These specifications would place the vehicle squarely in the compact work van category in North America, an important segment for tradespeople, delivery fleets, and urban businesses.
While most of the discussion has centered around an electric version, Stellantis could also offer a gas-powered variant depending on evolving regulatory and market demands.
Leadership Shift and Market Focus –

Though no longer heading the Ram brand, CEO of Chrysler and Alfa Romeo North America Christine Feuell, was previously responsible for outlining the commercial growth strategy for Ram. During her tenure as Ram CEO, Feuell stated in an interview with the Detroit Free Press:
“Our main competitor is Ford, and their whole Ford Pro organization and product and service lineup. They’ve made very impressive inroads… we definitely have our eyes set on beating Ford at some point in the near term.”
She also highlighted that Ram accounts for roughly 80% of Stellantis’ commercial vehicle sales in North America, indicating how crucial the brand is to Stellantis’ business fleet strategy.
Production and Potential –

Sources suggest the upcoming ProMaster City, if that name returns, would be produced in Turkey, where the Ulysse and Scudo are already built. This would streamline global production and allow Stellantis to adapt an existing, proven platform for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
A passenger variant, similar to the Fiat E-Ulysse, might also be in the mix. Such a configuration would be ideal for shuttle services, hotels, or ride-hailing fleets.
Thoughts –

While Stellantis hasn’t confirmed anything officially, this camouflaged K0 van does raise questions. With the Transit Connect gone and Ram absent from the small van space, the timing seems right for a new offering. If the rumors prove true, this could be the vehicle that brings Ram back into the compact commercial game, this time with electric power and a modernized platform.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for further sightings or announcements. Until then, this test mule might be an early sign of Ram’s next chapter in commercial mobility.
