Love it or hate it, the automotive industry has embraced electrification to combat the global upshift in emission restrictions. The Ram Truck brand has made it no secret that it plans to enter the electrified pickup truck market by 2024, with its upcoming Ram 1500 BEV or battery-electric vehicle. The American automaker has also said, that the Ram 1500 BEV will be accompanied by a new Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB) model. The REPB will feature everything from the BEV truck but will have an internal combustion engine (ICE) on board to help recharge that system to extended the vehicle’s range and cut down on recharge times.
While a lot of people are curious to know more about the upcoming Ram 1500 propulsion systems, a lot of people are interested in the vehicle’s styling. Ram has shown a few teasers of possible styling directions after Stellantis’ EV Day 2021 presentation, most of those seem to show a truck similar to the overall direction of a four-door Crew Cab with a pickup box that isn’t separated from the cab’s structure (similar to the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and Rivian R1T).
Although we don’t know much about what styling direction Ram will be going forward with, the pickup truck manufacturer has promised to show us a concept vehicle in the near future of its intentions. Until then, digital artists have taken it upon themselves to entertain us about the possibilities. One such artist (@srkdesigns) caught our attention, due to his Ram 1500 TRX-based creation that looks very familiar to one of the teaser sketches released by Ram.
He recently posted a video of his process of changing the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX into an all-electric pickup truck on YouTube. We have included it at the top of the page, for you to watch.
So what are you hoping that Ram will bring to market in 2024? Something futuristic or more conventional? Let us know in the comments below.
