Could FIAT Be Working On A 500X(RED) Sport Edition For The North American Market?

Spy Pictures Say It Might Be So...

The Jeep®, FIAT, and Ram brands are, together with (RED), answering the call to serve the global fight against pandemics through the launch of special-edition (RED) vehicles, helping to deliver more than $4 million to support the critical work of the Global Fund between 2021 and 2023.

“This partnership with FIAT, Jeep, and Ram is a powerful shot in the arm for (RED)’s fight against pandemics and the complacency that fuels them. It’s hard to believe that 15 years on from (RED)’s founding we are now fighting another tiny virus, but it’s even harder to see the virus of injustice that marked the AIDS pandemic, which is alive and well during COVID,” said Bono, Co-Founder, (RED).

So far there has been a number of (RED) edition vehicles released by the three brands…

However, it appears that the FIAT brand will release another (RED) model thanks to some recent spy photos from our friends at GabetzSPYUnit

They happened upon a lightly camouflaged Fiat 500X, with red-colored “5-0-0” badging on the grille area. A signature of the (RED) edition 500 models. It also is puzzling of why the would have covered the “Sport” badge on the fender, front air dam, and B-pillar, unless it was covering up the fact it was a (RED) edition 500X Sport and the (RED) B-pillar badge. The one questionable thing is the continuation of silver mirror caps from the Sport model.

Currently, the (500X)RED Edition is based on the European Cross trim. So could this in fact be a new model aimed for the North American market?

So what sets the current (500X)RED Edition apart from the rest of the 500X lineup?

  • Red Colored “5-0-0” Grille Logo
  • (RED) B-Pillar Badge
  • (FIAT) RED Welcome Kit
    • Specific Car Key Cover
    • Customized Dispenser
  • Seaqual® Marine Plastic Yarn Seats with (RED) Logo
  • Red Mirror Caps
  • 17-Inch Aluminum Wheels with Red Hubcap Accents
  • Red Colored Instrument Panel (I/P)
  • Antimicrobial Material used on Steering Wheel

In the North American marketplace, the 500X comes standard with a turbocharged 1.3-liter (GSE-T4) inline-four-cylinder engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive (AWD) is also standard on the 500X in North America, allowing the B-segment crossover to be used in any road condition.

It appears that we may see this newest addition to the (RED) family very soon, judging by the appearance of the spy photos.
