What is SRT working on...?

I agree, but two things need to be there
1. Looks. A classic shape made with a French curve.
2. Feeling. Fast or not, it must be visceral. The kind of car where connection is more important than comfort. The kind of car you would but in a radio delete. No power steering. I want to be exhausted after my drive. Definitely not a daily driver

Well unfortunately, bare minimum is one of the reasons why the Viper was a hard sell. No automatic, hard steering, no roll-up side windows in Series 1, ill fitting convertible top, etc. made it difficult to sell. Many of these issues were addressed by Series 5, except for the manual only transmission. I grew up with a manual transmission, but most drivers today have never driven a vehicle with a manual transmission. Even the new Corvette C8 doesn't come with a manual transmission.

Can't think of a major performance based racing series that hasn't converted for the quicker shifts, Indycar still doesn't have assisted steering although a few years ago they changed the geometry to make it better, think for Danica.

But when does a viper stop being a viper? Leave the c8 to the geriatrics and wanna be’s.
(I realize that they won’t/can’t make it my way, and my money is better spent on a daytona kit car)

Most people don't want an SUV the size of a durango or even a grand cherokee. They could power it with turbo 4's, the V6's or whatever in "mundane" trim levels but an SRT version could come with a 392, AWD, the 8-speed and weight under 5000lbs. It would be an all weather rocket ship - could be sold as a Dodge or a Jeep. Use the Stelvio platform

How about a good looking vehicle that will sell in volume that has high HP and under $35K. well equiped ? Said vehicle would burn 87 octane gasoline, weigh say 3500 lb. , and be stylish. It's a business model waiting to happen. Mustang wouldn't know what hit them, right SRT ?

Sir, you missed some of the prerequisites . If you can buy a well equipped 5.7 Mopar for $35K you are doing better than me with my FCA employee discount. The Mustang V8 will smoke a 5.7 powered vehicle and will give a 392 vehicle fits. I personally luv the 392 package but it requires 92 octane fuel and sells for $40K and up. check prices online like I have.

Agreed. Like that midsize Dodge CUV that was supposed to be coming with an SRT model?

I love my Cherokee, but give me a mid-size SRT CUV or Cherokee SRT and I'm in. (No premium gas tho please.)

I read that with the newer lower sulfur gas regs coming out soon premium will be priced .73 over 87, JEEZ !

It could essentially be a re-born magnum but not so large and low like the magnum was. It doesn't have to be trail rated or do anything of the off-road sort either. Just a 4dr D-CUV with AWD, very good looks and a performance Dodge heritage. It would be a working mans version of the Stelvio Quad, GLC 63AMG, X3 M and RS variants. Kinda a no brainer if you ask me as its the hottest segment and I am certain would dethrone the grand cherokee as SRT's best selling vehicle in its first year on sale.

As Triple T said, track cars (mustang and camaro chasing after ((and beating)) the BMW M4 etc) meanwhile this would appeal to a MUCH larger audience and could be used year round in the north east.

It was in their 2014 5 year plan as the journey replacement with an SRT version included as well
