Yeah it has a lot of the family resemblance but is a much more modern and quite a different look. Similar enough to instantly recognize it as a Charger though. Both look great either way you slice it.
I'm fine with the bandit grille staying on the SRT only cars. I purchased my Scat because I like the RT nose and hood (I'm a fan of the 1971-ish styling) and the fact that it is a sleeper more or less since from a distance, nobody realizes what it is.
I do wish the Scat would come down in price as I really think it's the bargain super car in the line up and that would sell even more. I loved the idea of the T/A but there wasn't enough in the package for me to jump to that price level. When I was shopping dealers were adding a million options to the Scat and trying to then sell them for $50k. A base-edition Scat with an Auto or Manual for $33k would be a nod to the RoadRunner of the past with the cheap interior, etc. It is all about speed. Since I had to shop so much to find exactly that for $33, I know there are at least some people like me out there that are into that. The dealer had a ton of these cars at one time as they said no one was picking up the low-option cars and so they got them in huge lots and were selling almost every one of them.
In any case, I'm excited to see where this all goes!
