Upcoming Charger & Challenger Discussion

That is why it should have moved to a new platform.
And if the GUS limitations prevented it from having a large V8, don't you think that would have turned off more buyers than this will?

That would make sense.
But dammit, L-platform in Dodge will be more than 15 years old.
They would really need an extensive upgrades to keep it up with modern techs.

Keep in mind that they have done updates throughout its lifespan rather than letting it go with no major changes as everyone assumes.

1- Keep the manual transmission, but offer the 7speed with no lift shift.
2- Keep offering V8s in both NA and forced induction
3- Need to be both a 10second car as well as a 1.2G car.
4- Keep the interior size but reduce the overall length.
5- Charger needs to be as sleek as Audi A7 and offer a manual transmission.

1.) Not in the cards
2.) They are
3.) Demon
4.) That's going to happen with shorter overhangs
5.) If you like the shape minus the front of the 1999 Charger R/T Concept car mixed with a BMW 7-Series you'll be fine. As for the manual no word if its going to happen

Shouldn't have a problem... they altered a Giulietta platform to be able to carry a 3.6L V6 in the 200S ;)

3- Demon.

So there is going to be a Demon for the next generation?

Correct. The Charger's suspension is almost completely different than its 2006 counterpart. Still is a bad ass driving car.

Im aware of that. But for example, one of the issues are the small overlap crash test. Noth Charger and Challenger scored Marginal

No. Demon is done. As I said before "trickle down".

This gives me an idea for a rendering.

Please do that, I'll have it as a wallpaper..
I’ve wanted to do a Charger for a while since that’s obviously my personal favorite FCA vehicle, just didn’t know where to start.

What's the chance of going twin-turbo instead of supercharger for the forced-induced V8?

Can't wait to see this. :D

I understand that 2019 is a holdover year until the new Challenger/Charger's in 2021. However, I know it has been previously mentioned that there may be new wheels, trims, and pass on down features through the line for 2019. I am wondering if specific information is available on wheels, trims, colors, and or features moving down the line (I do see that you have mentioned the Line Lock will be moving down to the R/T models). Also will there be any special Mopar models coming out in 2019.
