This morning, the Ram brand released three images of the newly updated 2025 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty with the following press release:

“As we approach the reveal of our 2025 Ram Heavy Duty, the engineering teams are conducting final testing on one of the most important performance attributes of our heavy haulers: cooling. As the trucks will be running loose in the wild with the camouflage removed, we wanted to share some quality exterior images with you rather than a badly lit snapshot out the window at 70 mph.”

Ram Could Show Off The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty In Detroit

Updated Heavy Duty Offering Could Break Cover In The Motor City, Next Month...

The 2025 Detroit Auto Show is fast approaching, and many people are wondering what Stellantiswill bring to showcase. Media day kicks off on Friday, January 10th, 2025, and we strongly believe that Ram will unveil the updated 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty trucks, marking their first public debut at the event.

They got a BUNCH of 2024 (HEMI's)models of RAM Trucks.
Doing a search within 100 miles of Pittsburgh, the closest V8 is 40 miles away. Overall 27 V8's in a 100 miles radius. I would say that probably in most city areas they are gone.
I recall either you or Triple T saying months ago dealers shouldn't discount Chargers and Challengers so they something to sell during the spring and summer seasons.
Here we sit a year after production ended with 1000's unsold, even though Hellcats and SRT"s are discounted 8 - 10 K. A year from now there will still be plenty unsold unless they discount another 10 - 15 to dump them.

left over LXs also, its a national news story.
So are we saying these 15 year old designs built two years ago and thrust down the dealers throats with no replacement in sight, at outrageous prices no less, are languishing on lots because they have v8s? We can argue the merits of v8 versus straight six, blah blah blah but please don’t try to blame this sales
Melt down on the fact that some of said cars had v8s installed. Good grief

On the flip side, might be a real bargain come along if a person had a need or interest. Just be sure you buy the extended warranty to infinity to cover that Carlos quality.

Six months ago they were gone around here in Kentucky. I went to the largest dealer in the area and they had 1 Limited still in stock. It's not like V8s are piled up on lots everywhere. Not the case.

Ram used to have a nice simple design to their grills. Now it looks like they hired the Toyota, Tonka toys castoffs.
I agree with the simple design, but who is the idiot with the college degree that came up with that horrific looking grill. And what idiot or idiots okayed this grill for production? I can tell you this is not what your customers wants. And this goes beyond just a grill as some of the designs throughout their lineups are hideous. As an example the ram 1500 with that weird chunk of metal that wraps from the front fender under the headlights. I have seen numerous trucks out and about that those pieces of whatever you call it does not lineup properly under the headlights. Another stupid design! Get rid of that and corporate all the 1500’s front ends to the design of the new Tungsten. Much cleaner and nicer look. Keep playing with fire and you’re gonna get burnt. Listen to your customers on what they want not what you think they want. Doesn’t work that way and your sales will tank just for that very reason. FYI Jeep Grand Cherokees 90% due to price gouging and the other 10% due to a few minor issues with design. And stop with the price hikes as that is a problem as well. Come on Stellantis, Ram, Jeep and Dodge come back to reality and stop with the nonsense. Listen to your CUSTOMERS! And please stop with the full electric vehicles. If anything go hybrid and master that sequence with the already gas powered vehicles. Now that is the future, not electric!

so actual inventory numbers and slow sales be damn you stopped by your local dealer and he didn't have many .... OK

Why you cutting on someone AI art... You do understand it hasn't been shown yet.... And even if it is close, you the arbiter of good design?

AND AGAIN if your not paying attention. If your fleet isn't 30% by New Years in 9 of the most populated state you cannot sell car or register them.

2) The Cummins is legendary, but in recent years it has been a joke. Large numbers, and I mean large numbers, of failures due to fuel systems, hydraulic lifters, grid heaters, etc. They are about to do yet ANOTHER revamp of the engine for 2025 to try and cure some issues. By contrast, the Ford 6.7L is rock solid. Almost zero common issues with those. Hot shot truckers are putting 500k miles on them before even turning wrenches. I saw one last month with 700k miles and it finally let a head gasket go. You will never see that with a Cummins built after 2018.
Sorry but this is laughably bad info.

The 6.7 Powerstroke is rock solid with almost zero common issues? Did you type that with a straight face or had to take several breaks from laughing so hard?

6.7PS is crippled by the CP4, same CP4 that GM ditched way back in 2015, and which Cummins only ran from ‘19-early ‘22. There are literally trucks sitting at dealer lots for months waiting for parts. Months, like 6 months plus. Entire fuel system replacement. Does for their part typically cover, but you’re laying on a truck to sit at the dealer instead of you driving. They also have rampant turbo failures, and radiator/air to water intercooler failures among others. I will concede that it’s a pretty decent engine like the other two, it only took ford 20 years of playing catchup to finally be on par with Duramax and Cummins.

I will also concede that Cummins has had their fair share of stupid issues that shouldn’t happen, like the fluky dual radiator deal that leaked, and garbage water pumps; the grid heater bolt is vastly overplayed and doesn’t affect every 6.7, only newer ones primarily. The roller rockers, again take dead reliable tappets and overcomplicate until they become an issue, it’s moronic. Same basic tappet design used from ‘89 to ‘18 with nary an issue, oh hey let’s screw that up!

Some of these issues seem to pop up the more certain companies get political with things like rainbows instead of building solid product

I typed that being dead serious, and speaking from personal experience. We've worked all the "big 3" brands of diesels in recent years. Currently the 6.7 Fords we have are hands down the most reliable.

The CP4 doesn't count because ALL the brands have fought with problems due to that pump. But the fact is, Ford did it best. They use a dual filtration system that keeps the CP4 alive more often than the Rams and GMs that used it. Takes a little more abuse to kill the CP4 in a Ford.

Fact is, every time you turn around now Cummins is redesigning the 6.7L engine because there are so many common complaints with it. It's gotten ridiculous. Now for '25 they're changing everything from the actual engine block to the glow plugs to the EGR to the oil filter and who knows what else. There was a time when Cummins in the Ram would have been our go-to for HD truck but now I would put them last.

I don't follow. Do you need a crayon illustration? You made it sound like V8 Rams and Challengers are stacked up at dealers everywhere. I'm telling you that's not true and hasn't been in several months. Perhaps in specific areas where V8s didn't sell well to begin with, but certainly not the case in most of America where it's hard to even find a Ram with a V8 new on a lot.

What IS stacking up are the 2025 Ram 1500s. Those are piling up really bad. Seems they can't move those I-6TT engines to save their souls. I've seen some ridiculous advertisements lately, up to $20k off sticker trying to move them.

I need Crayon drawing OK thanks. They haven't been produced in nearly a year yet there is still unsold inventory. There is an average 4 to 5 unsold out of production V8 powered vehicles per dealership, some 2023 model years. In my world that is collecting Dust. Not even count Durangos.

99% of the buying public never moves the plastic cover. I could try to explain false correlations, but you rather sling vailed insults.

If V8 is some magical solution despite being LESS in ever measurable Matric aside from sound and EPA fines the Inventory would be ZERO and the margins would be substantial and neither is the case.

See the thing is about problem solving ..... if you make false correlations, you make the problem worse by devoting resources in appropriately. Yeah, give me a Venn or Fishbone diagram on that, if you want use crayon go ahead.

Within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburgh there are 25 V8 Chargers and 12 Challengers. That is not 5 per dealer. Some near me have none.

2025 Ram 4500/5500 Chassis Cabs Gain PowerLine™ Transmission

New Transmission for Both Cummins and HEMI in Ram Chassis Cabs...

1734556085246.png

While much has been discussed about the upcoming mid-cycle action (MCA) for the 2025 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups, new details are emerging about updates to the 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab lineup. Though the exterior updates are modest, with a redesigned grille and updated headlights, the Chassis Cab models will feature a revised powertrain lineup with significant enhancements to performance and reliability.

It only took them seven years to replace their obsolete transmission. I wanted to replace my 2018 Ram 3500 dually in 2022, but I wasn't going to buy a new truck with an obsolete transmission and I missed the order deadline for a '22 Super Duty so I still have my '18 Ram. After three decades, I think my 2018 is going to be my last Ram; I don't trust Stellantis with a big purchase like that. Glow plugs on the Cummins....seriously!!!

Remind me again what’s obsolete? You couldn’t be more vague if you tried….
