Read those two stories first. They are great, and everything they say works in ForzaMotorsport and in Project Cars.
Also, just go to YouTube and search for videos by user Yorkie065, and possibly JSR Devon.
The most help is the two links above.
With Project Cars, it is essential to get your set up right, before you even get into a car. There are adjustments for everything. Get your seat position correct, get your wheel/controller adjustments correct, get button assignments correct, get game settings right, only then do you go into a car and mess about.
On top of that, PC2 can be unfriendly to a lot of routers. I have to DMZ my Xbox, and disable IPv6, then I. The Xbox I had to stop Backgrounding. I also had to disable all of the HUD elements that bead to using. PC2 is a deep game that already stresses a processor.
Once your in a car, the tuning can be brutal. Make ONLY zone small change at a time, test, make another change. Change anything back that doesn’t make things better. Save each tune, for each track, for set of conditions (day-Clear-dry-Hot, day-wet, night-Clear-dry, night-wet, etc.).
Start in career mode, use all of the practice and qualifying time to make improvements.
Also, the number one rule of tuning a car, is: “Don’t be the problem”. Meaning, drive correctly. A poor driver will cause underwater even in a perfectly tuned car-brake late, turn in late, understeer into the weeds.
PC2 is an amazing game once you get it set up and working. I am starting to get really fast. Still a ways from world record times, but I can podium in a lot of races.
