That architecture, once designed (and it was designed 10 years ago) has become a commodity.

The items I’ve cited have commodity pricing at this point - I cited a BoM cost, feel free to share different figures if you have them for these electronics you’re positing are so expensive. They’re not.

Things on new vehicles no one really needs -

1) screens bigger than 7” (do you really care what size the screen is as long as it has Google maps? No)
2) Radar cruise control
3) LIDAR
4) screens for rear passengers
5) 360 cameras

Personally once you have or use radar cruise control and 360 cameras, it will be positive addition in the next car.
With all the features and options, a big screen becomes necessary.

Not saying those aren’t nice features. I just don’t think they’re worth the $3-4K they’re charging for it.

I believe the crazy prices are because the "stake holders" were screaming for "higher transaction prices" and I'd say they got it. The cars lost their value years ago, now you look at the MSRP and it'll make your head spin.

If automotive vehicles (in US) were more like marine vehicles, I'd be more apt to drop $50k on them. Otherwise, it's a 10year logarithmic depreciating asset. In the tropics, it appears that time window is more marine like at 20-30years.
