Doesn’t change the fact that they rely on lots of additional electronics. The very same electronics that provide features that you, personally, don’t want.
Personally once you have or use radar cruise control and 360 cameras, it will be positive addition in the next car.That architecture, once designed (and it was designed 10 years ago) has become a commodity.
The items I’ve cited have commodity pricing at this point - I cited a BoM cost, feel free to share different figures if you have them for these electronics you’re positing are so expensive. They’re not.
Things on new vehicles no one really needs -
1) screens bigger than 7” (do you really care what size the screen is as long as it has Google maps? No)
2) Radar cruise control
3) LIDAR
4) screens for rear passengers
5) 360 cameras
Personally once you have or use radar cruise control and 360 cameras, it will be positive addition in the next car.
With all the features and options, a big screen becomes necessary.
