Director of muscle cars at Dodge says S.O. Sixpack is launching "early next year"..
Wonder why this is? I reckon engine issues?

Also played coy and vague when asked about a V8 Charger.

They are stuck in the ICE engines.
On one hand they have the SO and HO Hurricanes which are more powerful and efficient than the HEMI 5.7 and 6.4 respectively, and they have invested a lot of money on them to kill it without achieving its ROI.
On the other hand, they are people who want a V8 for the sake of it.
I truly see a place for the Hellcat and Redeye engines, but the NA V8’s have no justification.

This is where I have been for a long time. This is a MARKETING ISSUE... on a company that has be hideous a marketing lately.

You run commercials where ...... "That there got a Hemi" NOPE and it gaps a V8 car... any V8 car.... or Truck for that matter. You run the same sort of AD campaign that made the "HEMI" famous. Right now most of the people thing the Hurricane is a new Pentastar. And have NO idea how potent it is. NEW SIX pack and you start in the trucks. By the time the Charger is out, you get the WOW they put that in a Car.......

But alias I am still waiting for a Hornet commercial the explains it is a PHEV that you can go for a month without buying gas and still drive it in a spirited manner when you want too,

... and not have to wear a snowmobile suit to drive it in cold weather.🥶

Tonale is fine in the Cold... Who had a problem with them in the cold? We had record cold this did fine

The PHEV vehicles do well in the cold, that's a selling point. The driver does not need to wear a snowmobile suit in cold weather. I froze shuffling the BEVs up to charging stations this past winter. I even was getting brick warnings on the instrument panel as well on a few of them. The Silverado EV in the W/T trim doesn't even have heated seats or steering wheel. Which is a necessity in cold weather for a BEV. I'm glad I'm retired now.

For sure.... Oddly enough our 4xE used Electric less than the Tonale with it being cold? I suppose its because to be AWD the Tonale has to use the EV motor.

Welp.
Know it'll be more reported on this week, but seems the R/T will no longer be a thing for this car, or at least takes a hiatus..

I'm guessing the GT and Outlaw names were decided on super recently and these are somewhat older slides since it's the same older info about the Sixpacks (no trim names, this only gets 2 doors and that only gets four doors, S.O. isn't listed as late availability while the Scat Pack Plus is), but at this point I would've just called the H.O. the new R/T.

I disagree. And apparently most other people do judging by the sales numbers.

There is more to a car than numbers on paper. Owning one of these cars is an experience. The sound when you turn the key (or push the button) each morning. The rumble and shake of the car as it cold idles. Rowing through the gears on the way to work listening to the sweet song of the V8. Being able to pop the hood on Saturday and tinker with it and mod it and make it even better. It's a full experience. You don't get that with the I-6TT engine.

I would wager a fresh $20 bill that given the choice between a 450 HP I-6 and a 400 HP V8, 9 buyers out of 10 would take the V8.

And I won't even get into beyond warranty repair and ownership. NOBODY is going to want these Euro hurricane engines out of warranty I can promise you. Very difficult and expensive to work on. I have a buddy who is a service writer. He's already told me some horror stories with both the I-4 and I-6 "hurricane" engines.
