CAUGHT: 2026 Dodge Charger Outlaw Rips Through Detroit Streets

Twin-Turbo Charger Coupe Lets Loose While Filming In Downtown Detroit

It appears that yesterday, in downtown Detroit, Dodge was caught filming what looks—and sounds—like the all-new 2026 Dodge Charger Outlaw coupe. It didn’t take long for muscle car fans to take notice, especially once the exhaust note echoed off the buildings near Bagley and Cass Streets, near the Rosa Parks Transit Center downtown. A perfect setting for Dodge’s new muscle car, as it’s located near the iconic Woodward Avenue.

I want one .... but I really want it with the Hybrid ZF.

Lot of complaining about the sound but I think it sounds pretty good, Phone mic, long distance. Turbo are always more muted, I like a more bubbly sound but it louder than the truck for sure. Apache is one of the best sound engines ever made so it tough criteria. Honestly I think the new Coyote sounds like crap, and Vette 4 cylinders short of sounding correct.

Lets ****ing Go! I'm sold! That's stock and it sounds like that. I'm sold! Shut up and take my money at this point! The car itself is drop dead freaking gorgeous. It sounds good, it makes power, it's all-wheel-drive, even the GT comes in at 420hp stock so you know what, this works for me. My thing is this. I've already seen that people are doing stuff for the Hurricane powertrains in the trucks and the results speak for themselves. My line of thought is what happens when Direct Connection comes out with some factory-backed upgrades for these cars? Or the aftermarket exhaust companies like AWE, Magnaflow, Stainless Works, etc.? This car is a blanks canvas right now and pretty soon we're going to be seeing so much being offered for this new car. All of the companies who are big on the previous Mopar cars are going to be flocking to this new one. Companies like Vicrez. Oracle, Lighting Trendz and all kinds of wheel companies along with companies like Eibach, Whiteline and everyone else. This is going to truly be something amazing.

Nice!!! Now this is a Charger. I know you all want your Hemi, but this will definitely do until then, so bring it on.
Like the famous line in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, “I want it now!”

If you mean Hellcat.... yes .... if you mean Eagle and Apache? I guess they better get used to hearing the more muted exhaust and taillamps. The Outlaw will never hear the "Hemi" from so far behind.

:P

I guess bystanders can enjoy it as it goes buy slowly. AWD and More horsepower means gone gone gone.

I am truly captivated by this Six Pack Charger. It’s not a Hemi Challenger for sure, but it IS a gorgeous performance coupe that is AWD with lots of power to please most enthusiasts. If your a Hemi Challenger owner, like me, in truth you must admit that these cars can be a bit of a challenge in wet weather, unsafe for many in the snow or icy roads and in the high output Hemi versions, unmanageable at full acceleration. Yes indeed they are a blast to drive and the sound is enchanting to muscle heads like me, but in six years with my Hemi I’m hard pressed to find a place to get on it completely safely.
Actually looking to replace my Jeep with this Charger with its huge hatchback area and AWD accompanied by amazing looks. Why not ? Call it SUV lite.
Prediction, it will appeal, and sell, especially in a four door sedan model.
For the die hard folks, wait for the Hemi, it’s on its way making this next generation Charger a very, very appealing vehicle for a wide range of buyers, even SUV folks.

Not crazy about the sound.
Which is weird, cuz great sound can be had from a turbo 6.
Buick Grand National is case in point.

For me, if a 6 doesn't sound like a GN, then just muffle it up.

Its a phone mic from a 100 yards

If you guys are OK with your car sounding like a dirt bike, why didn't you already buy one of the 16 available from ANY brand?

HARD pass for me. I still think sales on this will be much greater than the EV but much lower than the V8s.

Best sounding 6 is the Maserati by far

Italians have a special talent in making a straight turbo sound good, Some here a equating loud with here...

What is funny is for all the it sounds horrible talk... other places they are debating on whether is actual has a V8 in it.

So on one end you have people so pre-bias that they say it sounds horrible, and on the other end of the pre-bias when it doesn't sound horrible it can't be a Hurricane it must be a V8. The COPE is comical at this point.

This is a Ford town. There are more tuned Coyotes than one can shake a stick at, it sounds like Trash.

Hate to break this to the muscle guys, but not everyone buys these for racing or engine noise. Since 2006 there has been a run of Chargers (and Challengers) sold to families, and who are not “Mopar enthusiasts” with the 3.5 and Pentistar 3.6. I think speed is more important than sound. Although YES I love the Hemi and would love to see it in this Charger sooner rather than later, I am not letting this eat me up like some.

Unless your posing, doing a burn out, running a street take over .... the time on the Slip sheet is way more important exhaust note. People tend to forget, the fastest track mopar, and still one of the fast production track cars ever made sounded like a misfiring tractor with its odd firing V10.
