BREAKING: Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares Will Step Down

Stellantis is preparing for a leadership shakeup as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Carlos Tavaressteps down amid recent profit challenges and declining sales in the United States. According to a Bloomberg report, the company is expected to make an official announcement soon.

His pricing strategy sank the American part of the company that was providing 50% of the cash flow for the entire organization. Only question I have is WTF did Stellantis take so long to give that blockhead his walking papers.

Travares was Lee Iacocca... He was perfectly fine making the same damn middling car with 30 versions of the coachwork. This idealization of the man who picked Eaton over Lutz, he is also the guy that insisted all styling had wire wheels and landau roofs. Master marketer but horrible product guy toward the end.
Yes, agreed, but Mary Barra and the likes wouldn't make a pimple on Iacocca's ass. He had the guts to turn Chrysler around when muscle cars were tanking. Travares is pure blockhead.

Nicely said Bob. I was never a fan of SM, but he did save Mopar and sailed the ship right and kept it together.
He kept it together only to merge with those who would form Sellantis. During his entire tenure at Chrysler all he talked about was MERGER MERGER MERGER. He didn't give a damn about building better quality cars, or introducing new models. Personally, I was glad to see him go.

I knew this was gonna happen the moment it was announced back when Fiat sold. Next statement isn't for the tree-huggers,,,but EV IS NOT the way to go, and believing so IS NOT keeping your ear to the ground. EV is niche at best. Let MOPAR be MOPAR, hopefully next CEO is a car guy and understands the legacy that MOPAR forged prior to the infotainment, plastic junk that lasts 5yrs before looking like it should be in the junk pile. I challenge new CEO to recognize the potential of MOPAR that's already there,,,don't reinvent the wheel,,,it's already perfectly round. How about dust off the old products, i.e. Chrysler Turbine, it ran on anything combustible, had only 1 fluid, hydraulic, and basically was advertised as maintenance free, just didn't have computer technology to match. Maybe move camshaft and cam bearings back down closer so Crankshaft can sling oil and properly lubricate like Crankshaft slinger was designed to do. The Hemi is considered one of the best designed engines ever,,,killing it wasn't the answer,,,but when roughly 63% of internal combustion energy exits the exhaust,,,I say that's 63% room for improvement. Oil is second to water as the most abundant naturally occurring liquid on the planet, oil isn't going anywhere in our lifetime. Earth produces oil faster than humans can drill it,,,we as humans need to get passed our arrogance. The new CEO should look to MOPAR's past, understand, and build on what has already been laid. Chrysler Turbine was born from Chrysler's WWII efforts, it was a tank engine, Hemi was born from competition,,Competition breeds innovation! Let MOPAR be MOPAR, the new CEO hopefully focuses on that,,,let the other brands fall flat.
