550 HP 2025 Dodge Charger SIX PACK H/O Coupe Coming

In a bold move, Dodge is rewriting the rules of the muscle car game with its all-new 2025 Charger SIX PACK lineup. Departing from the traditional HEMI® V8 engines, Dodge is embracing innovation by introducing the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter ‘Hurricane’ I6 engines, dubbed the ‘SIX PACK’, as the powerhouse behind its latest muscle car offerings. The Charger SIX PACK comes in two variants: the high-output (H/O) version for the two-door coupe and the standard-output (S/O) version for the four-door sedan. The 2025 Charger SIX PACK coupe packs a punch with its high-output (H/O) Hurricane engine, boasting a formidable 550 horsepower and … (read full article...)

According to Caleb Jacobs at The Drive there will be no manual transmission for the Sixpack. I admit this might be a deal breaker, maybe...
Manual was never a consideration, especially not with AWD. We’ve essentially known this

Apologies, I'm not an automotive engineer but manual transmissions have been offered with RWD and FWD. Jeeps and other 4x4 vehicles come with manual transmissions. What makes AWD and a manual transmission so difficult?

Nothing. But the manual market is drying up every year, they aren’t sinking development money into a fringe niche transmission when they have an AWD automatic ready to rock and roll. That every car will use.

If it were something like a WRX that only comes in manual, that’s one thing. But Subie only makes AWD although I think they have one RWD joint venture with Toyota.

Curious as to why dodge wouldn't offer the coupe with a standard output variant as well and offer a high output version of the sedan as well? Like a six pack r/t and a six pack scat pack.

My question now that this has settled in is - what is replacing the GT trims? Will there be a GMET4 or Pentastar lower trim? Will the SO fill that role (can't imagine it would)? Or are these just going to be astronomically priced, upper trim only cars?

They won’t show all the offerings now. Maybe as we get closer to the production date, more information will be released.
Or, they will offer limited models in the first year, and then offer more models.

Fully expect them to expand. Hell, this is the company that can’t keep SRT-only styling on SRT vehicles, they water it down to V6 so nothing looks special.

How much different in appearance was a 1968 Charger R/T from a 318 version other than badges and stripes?

What the hell does a ‘68 Charger have to do with anything? Not a goddamn thing, coming closer and closer to 60 years gone by and it’s about as irrelevant as saying the sky is blue. Boy you folks sure like to argue and make pointless statements. Focus here boy

So let’s rewind….not too long ago….2015…..Hellcat was EASILY identifiable from an SRT, which was EASILY identifiable from an RT, which was EASILY identifiable from a then-SXT. One glance and you knew (if you knew). Durango is especially bad, they all look the same.

So…..it stands to reason they will expand powertrain offerings to cover bases, the must-have-a-four-door-crowd gets their 550hp

In a recent announcement, Dodge revealed that it has pushed back the launch of the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of its new Charger to the second half of 2025. Originally, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6-powered SIX PACK variants were expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2025. However, due to adjustments in the production schedule, Dodge has decided to delay the launch of the SIX PACK models to ensure they meet the brand’s high standards of performance and innovation.

Glad I’m not a Dodge dealer. Maybe they still have plenty of Hornets to sell. I’m sure that’s a real revenue dream for them .

I’d predict the EV version would sell so bad, they would bring forward the manufacturing of the SixPack models.

I figure they know this and the delay is with setting up the factory to produce more gassers than EV's. As Sergio use to say "There is an industrial machine in the background here"

You said it! The Hornet looks to be an absolute loss leader for them. Saw a loaded R/T Plus model that listed in the high $40Ks- going for just under $29K. And they still can't move it. Been sitting at the dealership for more than a year.

If I were in the market for that type of vehicle, and Dodge threw in a complimentary extended warranty, I'd maybe consider the GT Plus, which appears to be sporty enough for that category, its just significantly overpriced. Its a $25K to $30K vehicle that they're trying to price in the high $30Ks or even low $40Ks. I'd steer clear of the PHEV setup of the RT model, that has turned out to be so troublesome, and surprised exactly nobody, in the process.

Its not overpriced for PHEV... No one knows it a PHEV.... The marketing has been 5h1t ... that and it just happens to be uglier version of a Good looking car.

Perhaps the delay in the ICE versions of the Charger is due to vendor and supplier concerns. ZF spent a ton of money on the 4th generation 8-speed transmission, including building a new production line in North America. Will the check from Stellantis bounce? What commitments are in place to pay back the investments of vendors and suppliers for the next Chrysler and Dodge products, when the future of these brands themselves is in doubt.

I really believe that this is ALL on the Merger. And while Management Pushed to keep schedules, it impossible to make up for the Cascading effects of delayed capital approval.

As someone who has been through this personally. Management always seems to count of the optimistic schedules over the realistic schedules, and nearly NEVER look at the pessimistic timelines, and don't want to leave time for things to be fixed. And always ignore the time lost for their approvals and somehow want Project managers and engineers to FIX it somehow.

And those who know here what I do... Trust me this is not at all isolated to any particular OEM but is Universal.
