It’s not the worst thing in the world, but the WL Altitude doesn’t look as premium as a WK2 Altitude because black plastic can be cheap or rugged, but not sporty or premium. The Altitude was the trim level I wanted specifically to avoid black plastic and get black accents from the factory. My WK2 Limited has black plastic and that’s significantly harder to maintain than a painted surface.

Looks like they’re taking a page from the Cherokee playbook and making you step up to High Altitude to get body-color trim. Especially since all trim levels but the Overland have the Summit fascia now—a welcome surprise.

@Ryan is right. The Overland is the only model to feature its own unique front fascia and the only one to come with standard front two hooks.

I wonder if this will become a trend on the higher end Jeeps, replacing Trailhawk with a more premium off-road model.

You wouldn't want to be linked to best handling SUV in the world.... REALLY??? maybe not the electronic glitchiness that comes with a semi-exotic. Think maybe your inserting some personal bias in that one?

I pretty sure @Bili you will find the Stelvio build points are inbound of the WL, thing the definitions do matter to an Engineer. The design for sure has it roots and well it should from one of the best handling vehicles for sale, with Jeeps extensive knowledge of off road durability. At some point is like 2 set of Grand Parents arguing who the grand children look more like.... when the answer is neither and both. In the end the beauty of the FCA development process is you come up with something that is perfectly suited to the application.

I have no bias against fiat or alpha - false assumption on your part. Many, many people seem to though unfortunately so it appears you at least partially agreed with the premise of my comment. The other reason marketing doesn't want them linked in my opinion would be the different markets the brands target. Didn't think i'd have to explain that in text.

Which totally falls into the (FCA/Stellantis) North American direction of getting dealers to inventory/ getting customers to absorb richer price models (trim/features/special packages/equipment,etc).
In return, higher EBIT margins.

Which would be correct if people actually have driven one, to know they are the best handling. Again, my comments were in regards to average american, and marketing. Avg person doesnt follow auto publications or knows that Stelvo handles so well. They probably don't know that vehicle even exists. All they would hear/see is some "platform" they've never heard of, a name they wouldn't know how to pronounce, and a foreign sounding brand LOL. Jeep probably doesn't want to link them by perception or otherwise

The Dodge Grand Caravan aged well until the Chrysler Pacifica was introduced. After driving the Pacifica, the Dodge minivan just suddenly showed its age. I suspect a similar thing will happen when the the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L is introduced. I like the Dodge Durango, but I am surprised by how broad the model trim and option availability list is for the 3-row Grand Cherokee. But I don't need a 3-row vehicle and have become very curious what the traditional 2-row Jeep GC model will have in store.

So we moved from Citadel to Stelvio.... your right. when first driving the Durango I was astounded by it driving dynamics for the size. Now I am like, it was ok.

We will see how much carries over, someone who driven it said it "Really Nice"

But the Trailhawk is suppose to be beyond Trial Rated?..... if not just a Appearance Package? If can be either if it is just appearance then have at it. But we know on the Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade it is more than Appearance. And while front and rear clips, and taller springs will all move the WL75 better... the break over cannot be changed beyond the max lift in the air suspension variants.

Trailhawk does not go beyond Trail Rated capability.

I responded there.... it is more even in the Grand Cherokee which all models are trail rated the Trailhawk is more capable and has more ground clearance.
