Meet The New Ram 1000 Pickup For The Columbian Market:

Ram 1000, Fiat Toro's name in colombian market.

I doubt this truck will ever come to the US but I found it curious that it will be sold in Colombia as a Ram.
The pickup will be present in the Bogota Auto Show, it will be manufactured in Brasil, it will have the eTorque 1.75 engine with 130hp, automatic transmission and FWD or 4x4 suspension. As is quite obvious, they only changed the badges.

Meet The New Ram 1000 Pickup For The Columbian Market:
Ram Offers Rebranded Fiat Toro To Columbia...

Since its debut in 2016, a lot of people have wondered why wouldn’t Ram rebrand the Latin American (LATAM) market Fiat Toro pickup and bring it to the United States. There is a simple reason and it is size. The Fiat Toro is smaller than the average modern-day mid-size truck found on most American and Canadian roads.

As Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) takes the Ram brand to be more global, we have seen many more market-specific Ram vehicles. Enter the rebranded Fiat Toro called the Ram 1000. The all-new Ram 1000 takes aim at small and medium-sized companies or entrepreneurs who require the duties of pickup, the Ram 1000 fits into a niche to compete with pickups of medium size and load capacity something more than half a ton.

TBH, if they put a more Ram-like grille (whatever that is now) it could be a great alternative for when gas prices shoot back up for those that want a truck.

To me this is a pretend truck. Not to say that a truck has to be BOF or RWD or have great huge wheels to be a “real” truck. That being said, if you don’t have those things, why even TRY to look like you do? To me the Fiat Doblo dropside pickup is much more authentic in its appearance with similar functionality. But hey, it’s all subjective anyway. Have a great Thanksgiving all!

Yeah, it's a "Lifestyle Truck"

Personally would not want one... but I agree that a little more of a Ram front grill and this could actually be a product for those that do not want a Full Size Truck... but want some functionality and the idea of a Truckish vehicle. Its not any worse looking than the Honda imho. I would love to know what the costs would be to Americanize this and bring it to the US. I assume its more than the projected profits, but would be interesting to have BeanCounter do some analysis.

This thing is smaller than a Colorado or a new Ranger. Its about the size of the last Colorado.

Hmmm? Like the other Fiats, this would be niche at best here in the US. I doubt it would recover the costs to federalize it. Honda does well with its Ridgline, with a better design, this could do well under the right circumstances. Again though, it comes down to costs and sales. Personally, I don’t think they’d be there, unless this could sell at a very friendly price point, base <$24k.
