This actually might be a really smart move for Stellantis right now. It allows them to still have their initial factory vehicle stay well within compliance but still allowing for factory backed aftermarket upgrades to be offered with factory warranties through dealerships. It's really not a new concept. Companies like Roush, Steeda, Saleen, Callaway. Rocky Ridge, etc. have been doing this for years with the Ford & GM brands. No real difference here. It goes along with something I've been saying for awhile now about Dodge allowing more of the aftermarket into the customization of their vehicles through Direct Connection. This could actually be the start of what we are really looking for going forward with the way the EPA and CARB are trying to move. If Stellantis can pull this off where we can get packages like this. Imagine the doors it can open for the rest of the Mopar performance lineup when it comes to not only performance, but cosmetics as well. Think big picture!
Admittedly, before I was a Mopar fan, I was a fan of Ford's Mustang. One of the things I loved about the Mustang was the fact that you had companies like Steeda and Roush that catered to the Mustang and that you could get a Roush mustang from a dealership with all of the crazy stuff on it and different wheels and superchargers and all kinds of stuff. I loved that you could go to Steeda and get alot of things that were factory backed that were aftermarket and didn't mess up your warranty, not everything, but alot of it. That's something that no other manufacturer has right now. If Stellantis can make that work it will seriously be a game changer for the brand
