If we're going to put in our "hopes and dreams" wish lists for what we want to see in the upcoming SRT vehicles here's mine!
I definitely want to see SRT across ALL of the brands, including Chrysler, if the brand actually does have a future.
I want to see Direct Connection get a MAJOR expansion for SRT4, SRT6, SRT8 and anything else SRT along with the not SRT trim packages including R/T & G/T on vehicles like the Charger and everything else.
While I am excited for some new SRT8 vehicles and even some nasty SRT6 Hurricane powered vehicles. What I truly want to see are some affordable SRT4 Vehicles that would be more along the lines of a midsize sedan than a full size sedan to slot under the new Charger but with exciting styling and powertrains. I would still like to see these cars on the STLA Large platform but around the size of a Kia Stinger or an Acura TLX Type S. Those cars have a wheelbase of about 113"(TLX)-114.4"(Stinger) with and overall length of about 190.2"(Stinger) and 194.6"(TLX) which is alot smaller than the 2026 Charger's 121.0" wheelbase and overall length of 206.6". The SLTA Large platform's shortest wheelbase is slated to be 113" So this sits right at the edge of the platform's smallest dimensions, yet could still make a RWD based car with plenty of interior room and cargo space and a fastback/hatchback design. Taking something like that and dropping in an SRT4 tuned 2.0L Hurricane-4 with the Plasma Transfer wire arc thermal spray cylinder bores, performance valvetrain, performance turbo system and all of that stuff which would bump the standard 2.0L Hurricane's power from 270hp/295tq to maybe about 330hp and 350lb-ft of torque and then mate it to the new ZF 8HP-EVO Gen-4 Hybrid 8-speed transmission in a full hybrid configuration. While the new hybrid transmission wouldn't need to have the max power motor setup of 268hp/443lb-ft of torque, an additional 85hp and 150lb-ft of torque would bring any SRT4 model with this powertrain a substantial 405hp and 500lb-ft of torque. However, if the SRT4 models are anything like what the brand did with the hellcat engines when adding large superchargers to produce the Redeye, Demon, and Demon 170, a 2-tier SRT4 lineup could very well see a full boar hybrid setup that gives the full 268hp/443tq hybrid to the 2.0L Hurricane-4 setup, offering an SRT4 setup with 598hp and 793lb-ft of torque. While that sounds crazy, remember the Mercedes AMG C63 S E Performance sedan had a hybrid 2.0L Turbocharged setup that put out a jaw-dropping 671hp and 752lb-ft of torque. That could be the difference of a Dart SRT-4 and a Dart SRT-4 Demon which would bring the Demon back to the Dart where it belongs. Being that any SRT6 or SRT8 model would be well above the 700hp mark, this makes alot of sense. Those numbers are before any type of Direct Connection upgrades and these SRT4 vehicles should be across the board.
SRT4
DODGE: Dart SRT4 hatchback/fastback sedan, Dodge Hornet Gen-2 STLA Large platform SRT4 2-row crossover
CHRYSLER: Duster SRT4 sedan, Voyager SRT4 Minivan (paying homage to the the late '80's Caravan Turbo that came with a manual transmission) and because we all want to see Ralph Gilles finally design an SRT minivan for real!!!!!!!!
JEEP: Cherokee SRT4 Trackhawk SUV
RAM: Rampage SRT4 Pickup
SRT6 would take cars like the Charger with the Hurricane-6 HO and the Ram 1500 and mate them to the ZF 8HP EVO hybrid transmission with the full bore 268hp/443lb-ft of torque option for a grand total of 818hp and 974lb-ft of torque. Of course there should be Direct Connection options for these vehicles as well Anything SRT8 and above would bring forth the mighty Hellephant 7-liter V8 with over 900hp to please the V8 faithful.
While it sounds insane, this still leaves alot of room for N/A Hemi powered vehicles, non-hybrid hurricane-6 and hurricane-4 powertrains and other powertrains (electric) that may find their niche in different places. There is no reason the Hemi shouldn't live on in the midst of all of this seeing that these models allow for diversity in the powertrains. I think the future for the North American Stellantis brands can really be bright now and there is something for everyone with what may be coming.
