Citroën is adding a little attitude to its lineup of quirky urban EVs with the new Ami Dark Side Edition. Known for its cheerful personality and friendly styling, the pint-sized electric quadricycle now trades its playful colors for something far bolder—an all-black exterior with crisp white accents. The Dark Side Edition is available to order now in Europe, with deliveries beginning in January 2026.
A New Look For Citroën’s Electric Rebel –

Introduced in 2020, the Citroën Ami has been one of Europe’s most distinctive electric mobility solutions. It’s technically classified as a quadricycle—meaning in several countries, it can be driven by teenagers as young as 14—and it’s designed for short commutes with a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) and a range of 75 km (47 miles).
The new Dark Side Edition completely changes Ami’s image. Instead of bright colors and playful graphics, this version is cloaked in a deep matte Black Night finish—the first time the Ami has ever worn such a bold look. White stickers, wheel trim designs, and cube-pattern graphics along the sides contrast against the dark body, giving it a stylish, almost stealthy personality. Depending on the angle or mood, the Dark Side can appear either refined and elegant or rebellious and street-smart.
Fresh Details And Refined Styling –

For 2025, Citroën gave the Ami a subtle redesign, sharpening its signature cartoon-like features while keeping its signature symmetry and “smiling” face. The Dark Side Edition builds on that with blacked-out details, a white-outlined front capsule that frames the Citroën logo, and a new rear spoiler that adds a touch of sportiness.
The wheels are fitted with Icy Color Pack-inspired white trim rings, and the unique black-and-white cube graphic theme carries over to the rear quarter panels and door sills. These accents give the small two-seater an expressive attitude unlike anything else on European streets.
Inside, Citroën keeps things simple yet upscale for this special edition. The Dark Side Color Pack features three storage boxes on the dashboard, a bag hook in front of the passenger, light grey storage nets, and matching grey stitching on the floor mats. It’s subtle but effective, brightening the cabin without losing the stealth theme.
Compact Comfort With Smart Tech –

While the Ami doesn’t feature a traditional infotainment system, it integrates smart functionality through the My Ami Play app, which turns your smartphone into the center of connectivity. It manages music, navigation, calls, and radio through steering-wheel controls via the Citroën Switch button. Owners can also track battery status, range, and mileage through the My Citroën app and its My Connect Box interface.
Accessible Electric Mobility –

The Citroën Ami was designed to make electric driving affordable, accessible, and fun for everyone—and the Dark Side Edition stays true to that mission. With seating for two, full weather protection, and zero emissions, it’s a practical alternative to scooters or mopeds in dense city environments. Nearly 85,000 units have been sold since its introduction, showing that Citroën’s bet on micro-mobility has paid off.
The Ami Dark Side Edition will be sold across France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, with pricing set at €8,890 (approx. $9,500 USD including VAT). It’s also available with the My Ami Cargo and My Ami For All packages for those needing more utility or accessibility features.
Whether you see it as chic or mischievous, Citroën’s latest take on the Ami proves that even the smallest EV on the road can show off a bit of edge—and do it all while keeping things affordable, sustainable, and unmistakably French.
