Chrysler Is Planning Another MCA For Its Pacifica Minivan
Won't Happen For A While, But Should Be Significant...
As the iconic Chrysler 300 concludes its production run this Friday, all eyes turn to the stalwart of the Chrysler lineup: the Pacifica minivan. With the imminent departure of the 300, Chrysler places significant emphasis on the Pacifica and its Voyager and Grand Caravan iterations as the sole torchbearers for the brand’s legacy.
Introduced in 2016 and later refreshed in 2020 with nuanced exterior modifications, an upgraded infotainment system, the prestigious Pinnacle model’s inception, and the integration of all-wheel-drive functionality, the Pacifica is now poised for another momentous evolution before its anticipated complete overhaul later in the decade.
In a conversation with Automotive News Canada, Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell outlined a comprehensive “mid-cycle action (MCA) plan” for the Pacifica, teasing that the impending update would encompass far more than mere surface-level enhancements. “It will be more than just a moderate refresh. It will be pretty significant,” shared Feuell, underscoring the magnitude of the impending changes.
During this phase, Chrysler foresees a brief period as a “one-product brand,” yet its commitment to an electrified future remains unwavering, with an ambitious pipeline of electric vehicles (EVs) in development, showcasing its commitment to sustainable mobility. While specifics of the update remained undisclosed, Feuell stated, “I’m not at liberty to say what year that will come out. It will be some point after we launch the first new [Chrysler] BEV product.”
