CAUGHT: 2025 Ram Rampage Big Horn With New Powertrain

New Diesel Engine and Transmission Are Headed To Brazil Market...

Ram continues to experience record growth in the Brazilian marketplace. Despite being a “premium” marque in Brazil, Ram is expanding its lineup with more mainstream and affordable options.

The Brazilian-designed and built compact Ram Rampage pickup, launched last year, has quickly become one of the most popular pickups in the market. Initially available in three trims—Rebel, Laramie, and R/T—the Rampage has been out of reach for some due to its premium pricing. However, the new 2025 Ram Rampage Big Horn is set to change that, bringing more affordable options to Brazilian customers.

New Powertrain Option For 2025 –

For the 2025 model year, Ram will introduce the Big Horn model in Brazil, featuring a new engine and transmission option. Previously, the Big Horn has been marketed in other South American countries like Argentina, equipped with the familiar turbodiesel 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine and ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission found in other regional products such as the Jeep® Compass and Commander, which share their architecture with the Rampage.

According to our friends at AutosSegredos, the 2025 Big Horn will debut a new 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, delivering 200 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. This new engine will be paired with the 8HF30 8-speed automatic transmission, first seen in the North American 2024 Jeep Compass. Four-wheel drive (4×4) will be standard across the lineup.

Big Horn Design Features –

The 2025 Ram Rampage Big Horn will feature chrome accents throughout the exterior. Recently, Ram introduced the Rampage Laramie Night Edition with dark accents, and it is expected that a similar design might be available for the Big Horn. The Big Horn will come with standard 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside, the Rampage Big Horn will feature synthetic and premium fabric seats. The interior will have a gray hue on the panel and door linings. A 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 information center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless integration will be standard.

Other standard features include:

  • Digital air conditioning controls
  • Electric power steering
  • Power windows and locks
  • Full LED headlamps
  • Ramcharger induction phone charger with cooling
  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold

Safety Features For Rampage Big Horn –

The Big Horn will come with an array of safety features, including:

  • Seven standard airbags
  • Traction and stability controls
  • ISOFIX system for child car seats
  • ABS brakes with electronic brake distribution

Marketing Position –

Pricing for the 2025 Ram Rampage Big Horn has yet to be announced. However, it is expected to be competitive, aiming to attract customers looking for a more affordable yet capable pickup. The Big Horn will compete with compact trucks like the Ford Maverick and Chevrolet Montana. The new Big Horn model will arrive in Brazilian dealer showrooms by late Q3 2024.

I thought they said they were getting rid of chrome across the board? Evidently in Brazil it's okay?

Bring this to N.A. already!!! With the classic leaving soon this would be a good fit! Why is Ram the only one of the three, Ford and Chevy that doesn’t have any small/mid size pick up?
