Dodge has revealed the pricing details for its all-new, all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona First Edition models for the Canadian market. While this marks a significant milestone for the American performance brand as it transitions into the electric vehicle (EV) market, and with such a slim lineup, there is no doubt that the launch of the new Dodge Charger EV has a lot riding on it.
Pricing Overview –
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T
- Starting Price: $57,790 CAD
- Breakdown: $54,995 MSRP + $2,695 destination and additional fees
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack
- Starting Price: $89,790 CAD
- Breakdown: $86,995 MSRP + destination and additional fees
Availability and Rebates –
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona will initially be available in British Columbia and Quebec, with plans to expand to other provinces as production increases. Canadian buyers can benefit from government rebates, including up to $5,000 in federal incentives and up to $7,000 in provincial rebates.
An Interesting Pricing Structure –
When U.S. pricing for the Charger Daytona leaked just a few days ago, those of us up north generally assumed that Canadian pricing would be even higher. Now that the official pricing for both the U.S. and Canada has been revealed, Dodge seems to have taken an interesting approach to pricing.
In the U.S., the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T First Edition will start at a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $59,595 USD. However, the Canadian version will start at a Canadian MSRP of $54,995 CAD, which seems like a downright bargain.
We contacted Stellantis Canada to ask if there are option packaging differences between the U.S. and Canadian cars that would explain the pricing strategy, but we have not received a response yet.
On the flip side, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack First Edition, which tops the lineup, begins at $73,190 USD in the States. However, Canadians will have to shell out $86,995, well under the exchange rate between the U.S. and Canadian dollar, given the generally accepted calculation of 34%. Given the current rate, as of the writing of this article, if you convert the Canadian MSRP and use the exchange rate, it equals $63,332.79 USD!
