Stellantis Donates €1 Million to Ukrainian Refugees and Civilians!

Stellantis Continues To Monitor The Safety Of Its 71 Employees In The Country...

Yesterday, we heard from Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, that the automaker has 71 employees based in Ukraine. Since the invasion by the Russian Federation, the automaker has been in contact with those employees on a daily basis. Before the presentation of the company’s “Drive Forward 2030” strategic plan, Tavares had said that the company was having a hard time reaching 3 of those 71 employees. Well according to the automaker, they have heard from those 3 employees and at the moment – they are all safe.

“Whatever the business consequence, Stellantis will apply [with whatever] the sanctions decide. We always [will] be compliant,“ Tavares stated before yesterday’s presentation. “We believe that fragmentation, the opposite of globalization, can lead [to] chaotic times. In this context, we have decided to set up a dedicated fund to help the refugees in the crisis. We hope the situation will come back to reason.”

“Stellantis condemns violence and aggression and, in this time of unprecedented pain, our priority is the health and safety of our Ukrainian employees and families,” said Tavares. “An aggression that shook a world order, already unsettled by uncertainty, has been launched. The Stellantis community, made of 170 nationalities, looks with dismay as civilians flee the country. Even if the scale of causalities is not yet apparent, the human toll will be unbearable.”

Earlier today, Stellantis through its Foundation, committed €1 million (or $1,113,170 USD) in humanitarian aid to support the Ukrainian refugees and civilians displaced by the current crisis. With the support of Stellantis’ head of operations in Ukraine, Stellantis will rely on a local NGO to support Ukrainians in using this fund.
