Maserati Officially Reveals Its New 540 HP GranCabrio Trofeo

New Sleek, Sport, and Elegant Convertible, Will Reach Dealers This Summer...

Excitement is in the air as Maserati unveiled the long-awaited open-top version of its iconic GranTurismo – the GranCabrio! Set to hit the streets this summer in Trofeo trim, this convertible beauty is ready to make heads turn and hearts race.

One of the GranCabrio’s standout features is its swift convertible action. In just 13.9 seconds, you can go from enclosed comfort to open-air exhilaration as the canvas roof smoothly retracts, even while cruising at speeds of up to 31 mph. And if unexpected rain clouds roll in, fear not! With a quick 14.1 seconds, you can close up shop and keep the interior cozy and dry.

But it’s not just about the mechanics – style matters too. Maserati offers a range of canvas roof colors, including Blue, Dark Red, Black, and two shades of Gray, to complement the six available exterior colors, Nero Assoluto, Blu Modena, Bianco Astro, Grigio Incognito, Grigio Maratea Matte, and a new shade of Metallic Green.

Inside the GranCabrio, it’s all about luxury and convenience. With just a gesture on the touchscreen, you can command the roof to do your bidding. Plus, front-seat occupants will stay warm and cozy thanks to the standard neck warmer, while an optional wind stopper reduces turbulence for those up front (though it sacrifices rear-seat space).

Under the hood, the GranCabrio packs a punch with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter “Nettuno” V6 engine, delivering a thrilling 542 horsepower to all four wheels via an 8-speed transmission. It may be a tad heavier than its hardtop sibling, but with a 0-62 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph, it’s still a force to be reckoned with.

Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the GranCabrio’s high-tech interior, featuring a 12.3-inch center infotainment screen, an 8.8-inch climate control display, and a 12.2-inch instrument cluster. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay keep you connected on the go, while Maserati Connect offers a host of smart features.

As for pricing, Maserati has yet to officially release numbers. However, looking at its GranTurismo hard-top counterpart, we would say that the GranCabrio will start just north of $200,000. Sure, it’s not cheap, but expected with the amount of performance and luxury you get with the Maserati brand.

The new GranCabrio should reach dealers this summer in the U.S.
