Back in 2016, the Dodge//SRT brand introduced a new “1 of 1” customization program for its beloved Viper nameplate. The program introduced more than 50 million unique configurations with the introduction of matte-finish paint across all exterior colors and stripes. Customers can choose from more than 16,000 unique paint colors and more than 48,000 unique stripe combinations from the 1 of 1 customization program, for a true one-of-a-kind, hand-built American supercar.
It was a crazy concept, that was really the first of its kind from an American automaker, especially for a car that had a starting price under six figures.
This 1 of 1 build of the 2017 Dodge Viper GTC is finished in Heritage Blue and is fitted with the Time Attack (TA) 2.0 Group (an $8,700 option) which adds a high-performance aero package. The TA 2.0 package adds a competition rear spoiler and front lower dive planes for increased downforce and improved handling on the track, two-piece Brembo Rotors, staggered 18-inch x 10-inch front and 19-inch x 13-inch Matte Black Sidewinder II wheels, Pirelli P Zero Corsa Tires, dual-mode suspension, five-mode ESC, performance brake pads, TA front splitter, and TA aero wing assembly kit. To help complete the exterior look, the car was fitted with a GTS hood, as part of the GTC program.
Under that hood, was the handcrafted, all-aluminum 8.4-liter VIPER V10 overhead-valve engine, featuring an ultra-high-flow, lightweight composite intake manifold; high-strength forged pistons; sodium-filled exhaust valves; exhaust system catalysts to ease backpressure, and an aluminum flywheel that reduced reciprocating losses.
The V10 was good for 645 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world at the time. It was mated to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission with close gear ratios and a final-drive ratio of 3.55.
This car only has 1,253 miles on the odometer.
Inside, this Viper features black Leather and Alcantara upholstery. For audiophiles, the car is equipped with a 12-speaker Harman Kardon® high-performance sound system. The system featured a 5.2 speaker playback architecture with five surround channels and two subwoofers. There is an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen with navigation and a 7-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) information screen in the gauge cluster. The dominant center tachometer display features an animated readout that glows red and shows off the new “Stryker” logo when engine rpm approaches the redline, safely alerting the driver to upshift.
Standard high-performance racing seats from Sabelt feature a lightweight Kevlar/fiberglass shell created by a state-of-the-art resin transfer molding technology for mass reduction and long-term durability.
This beautiful 1 of 1 Viper GTC will cross the auction block at the 2022 Mecum Glendale event on Saturday, March 19th. To see more pictures or to bid on the car, you can visit the Mecum website for more details.
